I was rejected for not including a second i-864 for my K-2. I resubmitted last week. On the second i-864 I listed the K-2 as principle immigrant, was that wrong? Will I be rejected again? Was I supposed to submit an exact copy of the i-864 for the K-1 for the K-2 as well? On an old thread someone said you only needed the one i-864, but that was a few years ago. I'm really disheartened that they keep rejecting my packet (first time was for using wrong i-485 form that expires in 2021). I would welcome an RFE rather than another rejection. I don't understand why they are being so hard on me when it seems others are being accepted with the same i-485 that I used. All the evidence they require is in the packet as well. Are they harder on DIYs? Sorry for the complaining, I couldn't sleep last night thinking about all this.

I chatted with an agent on the USCIS website, but they won't answer questions about filling out the forms. They told me to get professional advice.

When I get the rejected packet back I feel like I flunked a test, or got an "F" on a paper.

I am extremely sorry for the experience you have had so far. If your packet was indeed rejected due to 2021 then you must have gotten a really strict officer unfortunately. Irrespective of that I would focus on making sure whatever happens going forward is checked like a million times on different forums and what not. I am saying this because when my first packet was rejected I was in such a hurry to return the second one in that I completely overlooked a lot of issues. All in all I think its a good thing that happened because the first one that I submitted had so many stupid errors that I was amazed when I checked it the second time.

Long story short - Keep pushing through and you will finally be accepted, also in return save thousands on the lawyer fees like I did! 😉

You are here with a group of people all aiming towards a common goal. Have patience and stay strong. It is too early in the game for sleepless nights. I too was rejected once and it just gave me the opportunity to look over my forms and find my errors. Now i can better help someone navigate.

We got our NOA1 in the mail today. It has an IOE receipt number, does anyone else have this? Makes it tough for us to get an estimate on time frame I guess. I tried looking it up, but mostly I'm just seeing the IOE for I-130 documents.

Did you e-file I-130?Usually you get IOE receipt number when you e-file a particular form which in your case could be I-130.  Also the reason you are seeing IOE only for I-130 is because none of the other form as of this moment can be e-filed. I could be wrong but thought this might be the case.

No, we didn't e-file anything. Our I-130 (which we submitted last June when we were originally applying for the CR1 visa) went to Texas - SRC. And we mailed in our AOS application. I know IOE started coming up for I-130s last year, but I can't find any information on timelines for AOS with an IOE receipt.

It makes it tough to get an idea on a timeline and to know when I can call USCIS since the USCIS site doesn't provide timelines for IOE.

Anyway,  just confused :)

Hmm Interesting! I will try to look around for some if I can find a timeline for IOE. If I do I will definitely let you know. Hope its good different that the regular processing time if not the same! 😅
