Quick update. I originally filed on the 28th of March and got rejected because of an incomplete I 944. I refiled again on the 25th of April, package was delivered on the 27th. I did include the form to get emails and text notification. I decided to call my bank this morning to see of my cashier's check was cashed out and to my surprise it was on May 5th. I then decided to call the USCIS lockbox. They could find my file anything when they used my name, DOB etc. Finally the agent used my SSN number and was able to tell me that my case was accepted and a notice was mailed out to my address on file May 1st.

I had the same issue. My credit card was charged on May 5th but I didn't get texts yet. I called USCIS 5 times and all of them couldn't find receipt numbers. I decided to call them 1 last time today and this agent was able to find receipt numbers for all my applications. I sent my package on April 11th and was delivered on April 14th.

i-765 Case Was Received on April 14th

i-131 Case Was Received on April 14th

i-485 Fingerprint Fee Was Received on May 5th 2020.

My AoS was delivered on April 14th. They somehow processed my i-765 and i-131 on the same day it was delivered but i-485 took a while. I don't understand how this can happen.

I literally just used the USCIS live chat and was able to get all my receipt numbers. They said that they received them on April 27th and they send me receipt notices on May 1st so I should get them by the 31st. SMH.

Mine was delivered April 27th and all the forms showed received on that date. The i 485 says Fingerprint fee was received May 1.

I wonder when bio-metric appointments will be mailed out.

Not sure. I am hoping field offices reopen on the intended date.

How do you access the live chat? Can you inquire without an NOA receipt number?

Go on the website to talk to Emma. Let her know you want to check case status and you don't have/lost receipt number. It will then link you with a live agent. They will ask a series of self verification questions. Do you know if your NOAs were mailed out yet or if you checks were cleared.

How do you call the USCIS lockbox?

i would think processing would commence in the approximate order applications are received.. But this seems to not be the case ..

I think it depends on each case. The more complex the case seems, the longer the silence from USCIS is. IMHO.

Our status changed. They sent a Request for Initial Evidence yesterday. Kind of worried right now. 😬 I'll keep you all up to date when the letter arrives.

Hello everyone,

  • April 28 - Packet mailed via USPS
  • April  30 - Packet delivered
  • May 5 - Texts received

We filled out the I-485 version with the 2021 expiration date. Check was cashed on May 6.

How did they accept that form when they rejected mine because I used that form? They are accepting it sometimes?

Yes that's right. Some people are getting accepted with the 2021 form and some rejected.

How do you check your status?

I hope it's nothing difficult to get that they need from you!

I had an incompetent lawyer fill it out the first time. Waste $700. He left a lot of the boxes unchecked. The second time i did it on my own. I made sure i checked all appropriate boxes. Make sure you N/A. Also i was able to get my husband's credit score and report (he's the beneficiary)   I am the USC. For school his college transcript was a headache to get so we just sent a copy of his HS diploma. Make sure all your forms are current. Also I did a 864ez instead of 864 but we are adjusting from B2 status. Hope this helps. Just go over the forms carefully. Make sure to have all signatures and dates.

Thanks @malajoe for the information., I’m sorry you lost so much money getting the process completed by an attorney only to get a rejection, good luck with your latest submission!

Good timeline! Looking at it I am definitely confused of how USCIS processes the paperwork! My packet was received on April 23 and checks got cashed May 7th. Lol.
