Received our NOA's in the mail yesterday 😊

Theoretically speaking, how long is the average wait time for a biometrics appointment aftetr receiving the NOA for I485?

I understand that there may be a back log due to the closures, but what's the average wait time? (pre-COVID).

Thank you!

Hopefully 1 month

Received I-797C; NOA for I-485 today.

Congrats! No texts until now but a credit card charge by CHICAGO LOCKBOX happened about 30 minutes ago. I thought it comes after receiving NOA1s text messages but at least they're processing my application finally.

Our I-485 package was received at the Chicago lockbox on April 15th, but no NOA yet. The cashier's check hasn't been cashed yet. I was also rejected for using the old form and resubmitted with the green cover page. I redid the whole package and luckily found our NOA 1 letter from the K-1 visa that I couldn't find before. I'm impatient to hear something. I am here to see if anyone else is waiting so long.

From what I've been reading, I guess we won't be able to travel with Advance Parole by August. Seems to be taking longer than that. Also, my wife and child had their physical in the Philippines over one year ago - January of 2019. I guess we'll have to see a doctor here to fill out the form. Has anyone else had that experience? The I-485 form says that you can wait to do the physicals before the interview appointment. I am hoping they will let us slide the 3 months that we were past the one year expiration of the physicals from the Philippines. Any chance?

I'm so tired of waiting . When will they ever just put everything online, so there's no confusion about the forms?

Oh, I meant the NOA2 from the K-1 process. I only sent  2 total passport photos. I didn't realize at the time that I needed to send 6? I guess I'll get an RFE for additional photos for Advance Parole and EAD?

Mine was delivered to Chicago on April 14th and still no word for me either. I’ll give 4 weeks / 30 days until I call since I know they’ll tell me to do that anyway. On Monday I emailed the lockbox to check in since I was told it can take 2 weeks for a response from them. There’s another thread of people with similar timelines and it seems most still haven’t heard. Though on the other hand, many have waited less so who knows! Good luck - keep us posted!

Thanks, it's good to know we are not the only ones waiting.

They will respond soonest, you shouldn’t worry until after 30 days. There are lots of cases they are processing. You will be fine trust me.

Good evening everyone,

We just received our three texts from USCIS. Here is our timeline so far:

  • April 30 - Packet mailed via USPS
  • May 3 - Packet delivered
  • May 6 - Texts received

We filled out the I-485 version with the 2020 expiration date. I checked my checking account and it doesn't look like our check has been cashed yet. The three text messages each had a different case number - one for each application we sent (I-485, I-765, and I-131).

Hi all! Just got my texts a few minutes ago. I can finally breathe again!

For those still wondering, I had used the i-485 version that expires in 2020.

Just a question, when I tried entering the receipt number into the myuscis account (so that it can be associated with my account), it said they cannot find my case, although the online case status tool was able to find all my cases. Is the tracking just unreliable?
