Same here - mailed application on the 7th April 2020 received 10th April 2020 - but still no sign of anything- called yesterday - it is not yet registered.

What information do they use to look up a registered case?

Here's my theory on maybe why some peoples application gets accepted quicker than others. Firstly and most importantly if you have filed before and got rejected maybe they give preference to your case in terms of getting you in if you have everything this time around. Meaning the fact that they give you a dark colored paper to post on top just to point out that you were rejected tells me that. Maybe also the number of times you are rejected plays a role. They maybe giving a different color depending on the number of rejection your are at. Haha. Also the style of filing. If I am working at the lockbox and if someone files the application the best way according to USCIS filing system then I might tend to take care of it immediately then to someone where I have to look for things to put together. Lol just speculation for fun! 😜

My biggest frustration is this.

lack of information.

as applicants we are kept in the dark unless an application is being accepted by the lockbox facility - we submit our application containing all our personal details-

we do not know if the application is rejected before reciving it in the mail- ( to my understanding) what if thr application is misplaced- retued to the wrong adress or get lost in the mail?

a receipt number is apparently only generated if the application is approved- so there is no traceability.

i had a US congresswoman look into my case - even her office cannot get any indication as to what is going on with my case.

as a European with much high regard for the US

I am simply baffled and surprised this is the case.

Thousands of legal immigrants ( subject to approval) and their US Citizen spouses are affected by this lack of transparency-

I Understand the implementation of COVID19 on such a process- however NO statement have been made to ensure that we - the applicants remain in a legal status in the Interim - family based visas especially K1 have somehow been overlooked in it all
- the worst part is that overstays can bear serious consequences to the applicants in the future in terms of immigration privileges such as naturalization or seeking entry into the US

Remember we are talking about law abiding people that want to establish a life and be an asset to the US -

This is NOT about illegal immigrants -
I understand the need for due diligence in the processing of immigrants I actually applaud it.

But to have a process where an applicant or even a congressman or woman is unable to track the process- whilst application of stringent sanctions should the applicants not follow the process- remains in force- seems  un-American  and admittedly in my honest absence of legal understanding- unconstitutional.

just my two cents....

This thread following a similar timeline was reassuring:

FYI - My packet was rejected due to an outdated form and returned to me in ~ 9 days. I refiled everything again. Sorted it with a detailed cover letter. I had folder to hold each forms and evidence. I had the colored paper on top as well. However, I am still waiting to hear back from USCIS. I thought they would prioritize the rejected packets first but I guess not. Mine was sent and delivered on 14th of April and I am still waiting to hear back!

Hmm. Thanks for the data point. I guess my theory is wrong and USCIS still keeping everyone in the dark as @Viking said! 😞

Hey everyone. Filed my form sometime in April and it was received on the 14th. Just checked my status and I have an RFE coming my way. Really nervous! I wish it told you online what the RFE was for.

Has anyone gotten an RFE recently and what’s it for?
The things I suspect they could be for:
-My husband hadn’t filed his 2019 taxes yet which he’s doing now.

-I couldn’t get those education equivalency reports due to COVID. I hope it isn’t that because I’ve no way of getting them!
-I sent error reports from the credit score websites because I didn’t have a credit score. I’ve since gotten a letter from Equifax saying I don’t have a credit score so it would be handy if that’s what it was 😔

Unfortunately it doesn’t go into the details of RFE online, but at least you know applications are being processing. Hopefully it’s not anything major. Good luck and keep us posted.

NOA received this weekend, now pending biometrics. Can officially confirm the "old" 485 version is acceptable!

I've never given an online opinion like this for fear of backlash, but I think this is important to express. This forum is *so* valuable, but it's caused me as much stress and relief.

I agree with the person who said we should all be careful posting here. We are all on edge with our applications, nevermind the state of things right now and the lack of transparency from USCIS. I think speculation is not healthy. Especially with things like I-944 where no one has answers. My lawyer's exact words were "I don't think even the officers know how to interpret the form yet." We'll see results soon, but for now, keep on sharing your experiences...

In the immortal words of HSM, "we're all this together". 💓

I don't know if you mean my post or not, but I totally agree with you!!! Thanks for sharing!!

Not at all directed towards a comment in particular, just posted in hopes to ease things for the next few months I'll be spending glued to this site. Good luck to you ☺️

Keep us posted. We have similar timeline and I haven't got any notification either.

Package sent via USPS on Apr 03

Delivered on Apr 07

Update on my timeline. I-130/I-485 packages. Adjusting from F-1

Apr 29: Checks cashed

May 4: NOA arriving in mail. I haven't got to look yet because I'm still at work. But USPS shows there are 3 envelopes to my name and 1 to my wife's (petitioner)

An odd thing is I included the G-1145 form filled out with my information (I'm the applicant) and I didn't receive any text messages or emails. Not sure if I messed this up.

Congratulations!

My wife (sponsor) and I both filed the G-1145 but I got all 4 texts and she didn’t get any. It’s baffling how unpredictable things are with USCIS.

I’m also adjusting from F1 and received my NOA  on April 25. Lets keep in touch.
