Hi everyone! I just discovered this thread today and it gave me so much relief!

I have a question for you guys:

I’m sending in my AOS package tomorrow. I have all the evidence regarding I-944 form EXCEPT from that damn credit score report. I have the same problem (like many of you have experienced too) that there is an error telling you that you need to contact customer service in order to get a report.

Equifax told me a month ago to send in copy of SSN-card, passport and lease agreement - which I did the same day. I have called them multiple times asking them if they have received my documents, they couldn’t tell me anything! After the third phone call a lady said that it might take up to two months now due to COVID to receive a credit score report. It’s been over a month now so me and my husband decided to write and explanation letter stating the circumstances and also a print screen of the error message when trying to get the credit report online. I also ended up submitting my husbands credit score in the meantime (better safe than sorry). Equifax customer service told me that they could not provide me with a statement that the circumstances makes the processing time slower than usual...

So my question is: has anyone out there (who did not submit a credit score, but instead an explanation letter or other kind of proof) had their cases rejected? Or have you been able to receive NOA

I would be forever thankful for this information, since I am planning on submitting my package tomorrow :)

If you have a credit score because of established credit in the US then try Experian. After registering they allow you to get a copy of the report and the score all online.

I do not have a credit score, I’ve never had a credit card... so in my case they want proof of a zero credit score 😕

Hmm sorry in that case someone else might be able to chime in. I have read where people have gotten the letter as you mentioned as well but that has taken some time unfortunately as they couldn't process online and had to wait for snail mail! But I may be wrong and somebody has found a way to get it faster.

Thanks for the reply anyways! I’ve been waiting patiently now for over a month and I’m running out of time unfortunately. Seems kind of silly that they would reject the whole thing because of that missing information... you would think that the USCIS would be understanding in a time like this... sadly I don’t think they will😕

Yeah I hope it works out for you! Fillers for the April 2020 have experienced a bunch of different things in regards to filing with the new I944. Somebody will definitely have an answer for you!

Do you have a bank account here in the US? My bank was able to print out my credit score which stated that I don't have one. Maybe they will be able to help you?

Your answer will depend on what you feel as household. If your husband or wife is written as a household member and any of you filed tax, then both of you will put details in debts and liabilities if any. Just as you put in assets section. Since you came on K1 you won't have liabilities yet but your spouse can have credit card or personal loan liability or car loan.

Hi, I'm sorry but this advice is not corect. The debts and liabilities section only applies to the applicant. The question does NOT ask for the household's debt.

It DOES ask for the household's assets though.

And yes, an applicant can have debt. For example I listed my student loan from Australia.

I'm not trying to come across rude, I just needed to correct this so that others don't get the wrong advice.

I went to meet wifey at work. When I get home I will send it. I also think any April filer that got accepted NOA should let us know which expiry date of i485 they used.

mine expires 10/21/2021 but i got got my NOA the first week of april.

PS: I am in a hurry with sending AOS in because my I-94 expires on May 13th and I don’t want to spend another $500 something dollars on the I-130 😂

While this is still a new form, we have been following it since it started a few months ago, we did the same as you, screen shot of the error screen, and a letter explaining. We also have yet to see anyone get rejected for "credit score".

This form is used for multiple different visa's its not only for K-1.

We also got all 3 NOA's and are at the finger print stage (waiting for things to open back up)

Im assuming you are married already? Ive seen plenty of people on this site send the AOS package (not I-130) after the I-94 expires, my understanding is that you need to have a marriage cert saying you were married before the I-94 expires
