If you listed any assets as far as I see in the instructions

Correct-

you can use Assets to showcase that you are Less Likely to become a public Charge...

again you are correct-

my take is - if you have less  than 250% FPG It  may benefit you to showcase your assets and liabilities to demonstrate that you have the means available to support yourself and your family.

If you have less than 125 % FPG you NEED to make up the shortfall by displaying assets and or multiple sponsorships.

the rules are supposed to be interpreted this way-

Yeah, I see what you are saying. Phew, got scared for a second :D

We are thankfully more than over the 125% poverty guidelines and didn't include any assets.

That's just for the beneficiary. They want to know if you have any debts or liabilities and also need the proof. If it's in another language it will have to be a certified translation. We used this site (they were super fast): www.universal-translation-services.com

Ok thank you!

Your answer will depend on what you feel as household. If your husband or wife is written as a household member and any of you filed tax, then both of you will put details in debts and liabilities if any. Just as you put in assets section. Since you came on K1 you won't have liabilities yet but your spouse can have credit card or personal loan liability or car loan.

Thank you!!

I agree with this interpretation! However, I want to add that we are well over 250% so left that section blank at first, and after our 2 rejections I just decided to add information to it anyway. No idea if this helped get us accepted this time around.

I really don’t know since I got that same generic rejection letter both times listing the 485, 864, and 944. I actually think the first rejection was because I accidentally left a box blank on the 864 in that part where it asks for your income for the past 3 tax years.  The second time, no idea. Quite possibly the 944 somewhere. I had spots on all 3 forms where things didn’t apply - such as translator info, where I had left blank and not written n/a. I had written n/a into the assets section the second time though. I really have no clue!

I understand. For me once I realized that I left out some important information on the I 944 I knew it would be sent back. Also the first time I filed the I 864. This time I did the I 864ez. Don't think I put N/A in all the blank spaces tho. Keeping my fingers crossed. My husband is the immigrant and he has so many questions which Idk all the answers to. I am happy for this group. I am learning a lot. When I got my GC in 2009 things were so much easier.

We also got denied even though it was received on 02/24 due to extra remittance on the I-485. Did you receive your whole package back with the denial letter? We are still waiting on our package and it's so frustrating!

You can still print everything fresh with the corrected form. Make sure you are using the latest edition for all the forms. I got rejected because of outdated I-485. Whole package in some order. I redid everything, had saved everything in my computer, forms and evidences. So I had to just reprint , recheck and resend. Followed the instructions they gave in that green letter (placed on top of the new filing). Got the three NOAs, in less than 2 weeks of shipping.

I also used the version that expires in 2021, the one that was online when I re-did the forms!

Mine was accepted, - texts received and my check was cashed.  And this was after two rejections!!! Stay calm everyone!

PS, we got the hardcopy letters today, all three of them! Woohoo!

Hey all, we sent out our packet on Thursday and haven’t received texts or anything yet but just noticed that they charged our card today for the $1,225! I hope it’s because it all looked ok and our NOA is on its way!

Hi everyone! I just discovered this thread today and it gave me so much relief!

I have a question for you guys:

I’m sending in my AOS package tomorrow. I have all the evidence regarding I-944 form EXCEPT from that damn credit score report. I have the same problem (like many of you have experienced too) that there is an error telling you that you need to contact customer service in order to get a report.

Equifax told me a month ago to send in copy of SSN-card, passport and lease agreement - which I did the same day. I have called them multiple times asking them if they have received my documents, they couldn’t tell me anything! After the third phone call a lady said that it might take up to two months now due to COVID to receive a credit score report. It’s been over a month now so me and my husband decided to write an explanation letter stating the circumstances and also a print screen of the error message when trying to get the credit report online. I also ended up submitting my husbands credit score in the meantime (better safe than sorry). Equifax customer service told me that they could not provide me with a statement that the circumstances makes the processing time slower than usual...

So my question is: has anyone out there (who did not submit a credit score, but instead an explanation letter or other kind of proof) had their cases rejected? Or have you been able to receive NOA

I would be forever thankful for this information, since I am planning on submitting my package tomorrow :)

PS: I am in a hurry with sending AOS in because my I-94 expires on May 13th and I don’t want to spend another $500 something dollars on the I-130 😂
