Definitely trying not to! It looks like they last updated/reviewed the USCIS I-485 page on 4/20/2020, right when I had everything bundled and ready to send so of course I didn't think I would need to check to see if the expiry date changed AGAIN 😅 but I guess all we can do is wait and see..

But the edition is that same. The big change is about public charge. I hope my package doesn't get rejected again. ughhh

I'm from Melbourne, Australia. You?

I'm from the Central Coast, NSW (about an 1.5 hours north of Sydney). Happy to see Aussies out here 😄

Yes the edition is the same but the expiring date is different 2021 not same as 2020

They may have their reason

But wait and see you might get lucky

But they are really picky

Tell me about it!! I'm going to be a May filer by the time everything is said and done 😂 I don't understand why they needed to change the expiry date and how much of an impact that it actually has in reality but I guess if their goal is to slow down people applying then they are doing a good job lol

It really is annoying. I was all ready to resubmit this morning when I read the post. We then checked the barcodes on the 2020 and 2021 versions and they are different. So to be safe I re-downloaded the i-485 again and redid all of that.

If someone's application gets rejected based on that its just unacceptable.

Im glad you caught it . I resent everything on Saturday. We were focused on making the corrections on the i 944.

Change the 1st page of your i485 form

Use the new form on USCIS just the 1st page that shows expiring 10/31/2020

Don't submit the 10/31/2021 i485 they will return it and you will waste your time

Unfortunately I have already filed last week using the the form with the 2021 expiry :(

Same here...  I think the edition date is more important than the expiration date. Let me do some digging.

So the only difference between the form that expires 10/31/2020 and 10/31/2021 is the first page? I have already filled out the whole 10/31/2021 edition of the I-485 and don't want to re do it again! If just changing the first page works I'll do that 😃

I dont recall anyone else having this issue...

I was looking the i-944 over and since I can't tell what's wrong about it (they didn't send it back), I just added more stuff to the credit report part, and updated the assets part. Then added N/As to every possible blank space. What did you add in the end?

Feels kinda ominous really and I really hope they accept it after the sweat and tears.

@AlanaM and I filed last week with the 2021 version, so there's nothing we can do but wait and see.

Wish us luck!

Im sorry but I got kind of confused. Which is the I-485 form that we should summit? The one that says 10/31/2021 on expiration date?

Thank you 🙂

According to USCIS the edition date should be 10/15/19.

But the latest version on their website expires 10/31/2020. I used that version this morning before I submitted. Have you done up your form?
