Did your husband have a SSN when you added him as an authorized user? Or did he obtain a SSN later?

I added my husband as an authorized user a few months ago. He has no SSN but he has an ITIN.

Yet, he does NOT have neither credit score nor credit history....😔

He didn't have an SSN and still doesn't have one. I added him last Ooctober. How long did it take you guys to get him a ITIN. I applied for one a little over two months ago

Oh shoot..Wish I could know that earlier. I sent I-864 with my husband's AOS package. Does that mean USCIS is going to return it?

I doubt they will return it. I just think not needing a sponsor is a positive actor with the whole public charge thing

the current form on USCIS website is Form I-485 OMB no 1615-0023 expires 10/31/2020   with annotation at bottom of page Edition 10/15/19

I filed the current form from USCIS Form I-485 OMB no 1615-0023 expires 10/31/2021 with annotation at bottom of page Edition 10/15/19

is this a concern?

I dont want to blow a fuse BUT/

With all the issues going on concerning I 944 / COVID 19  courthouse closures USCIS Closures and similar it seems UNFATHOMABLE that a rejection will be given if an applicant used the RIGHT form at time of application / the  *validity is denoted on top of page should not be a disqualifyer / unless the form is expired/ and according to the denotation on the bottom of the page / it is the same FRIGGIN form Edition 10/15/19.

this is absolutely insanity if this is the case.

I have checked the USCIS list for form updates

Feb. 24, 2020

Update to Supplement A to Form I-485, Adjustment of Status Under Section 245(i). New Edition Dated 10/15/19.
Edition Date: 10/15/19. Effective Feb. 24, prior editions will be rejected.

Aug. 13, 2019 Update to I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status; New Edition Dated 07/15/19.
07/15/19. We will also accept the 12/13/17 edition.
Jan. 3, 2018 Update to Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, New Edition Date 12/13/17.
To apply for lawful permanent resident status if you are in the United States.

Anyone with any insight please comment.

the Edition date of the i-485 is 10/15/19 at the bottom thats correct

But dont use the one that its expiring date is 10/31/2021 on top they will reject it

The right one is 10/31/2020 on right top

Do you know when they changed the expiry dates on the forms for 2021 to 2020? Was it this week or last? Thanks for your answers!

Did you get rejected from using the 2021 edition or someone you know did? I submitted that form (2021) beginning of last week as that edition was on the USCIS website to download.. guess I am looking at a third rejection 😭

Don't stress out just yet. I also submitted the 2021 edition on April 21st. From what I read on here, I believe the form wasn't updated til end of last week, so the 2021 version is the only one we had access to at the time.

It all depends on who evaluates your case, you may be lucky and it will be an oversight

Afterall you got the forms from USCIS

So dont feel bad, keep your fingers crossed every case is different

Definitely trying not to! It looks like they last updated/reviewed the USCIS I-485 page on 4/20/2020, right when I had everything bundled and ready to send so of course I didn't think I would need to check to see if the expiry date changed AGAIN 😅 but I guess all we can do is wait and see..

Hopefully I get lucky but I seem to have had bad luck so far 😅 it is definitely frustrating, especially because they are the exact same forms! However, thank you for putting that info out here because I would've been oblivious until my application showed back up in my mail box!!

All, Just a heads up of a small date discrepancy that I noticed today while checking all the forms before shipping them off. The form I-485, I-864 and I-944 were effectively revised to reflect the the Feb 24 ruling and the expiry of all three forms is 10/31/2021 and edition is 10/15/2019. Atleast thats what I downloaded and am going to ship. But as of today the USCIS website shows the expiry of form I-485 to be 10/31/2020 but the edition is the same. Dont know if I am the only one with this issue or something changed. For now everything is sealed for me so I am going to just go ahead and submit the documentation but just want to bring it to everybody attention. Let me know if you see the same issue. Thanks.

Both have the same edition date so why would they accept the 2020 one and reject the 2021. Did this happen to you? I filed a first time with the 2021 my paperwork was returned because my i 944 was incomplete but there was no mention of using the wrong version of the form. I guess I will have to wait and see. I see their goal of fraustration people is really starting to work.

It really is annoying. I was all ready to resubmit this morning when I read the post. We then checked the barcodes on the 2020 and 2021 versions and they are different. So to be safe I re-downloaded the i-485 again and redid all of that.

If someone's application gets rejected based on that its just unacceptable. The USCIS holds so many people's lives and futures in their hands... and to have that feeling of being played around is just... yeah.
