I finally received my employment authorization card renewal today (the extension expires in 3 weeks). Needless to say, it wasn't straight forward. First off, they sent it to my old address even though I changed my address last July and they confirmed the new address...

I expedited on the basis of job loss which you can now do as their expedite request language changed in January. My expedite request sat waiting to be assigned for 2 weeks so I reached out to our senators office. They suggested I also expedite based on severe financial loss for my company and to get a letter from them. My company were willing to do this and gave me a letter so my senators office requested expedite based on company severe financial loss and personal financial loss. Within 2 days of this going to USCIS, i received notice my card was being produced.

Interestingly enough, just before I sent the letters to the senator, my I-485 updated to "ready to be scheduled for interview". Now I have to go through all the service agents again to make sure that any notices I may be due have not been sent to my old address seeing as they never updated it. So inefficient. In addition, I went and changed my address again on each of my I485, I-130 as well a for my A-number. I can't afford for anything to slip through the cracks here...

Hello,

i renewed my combo card in june last year. Today my 765 changed to card is being produced. Do you know if the ead card is valid for one year or two year? Those who have received recently how long this is valid?

i applied 485 in april 2020. Took finger prints aug 2020, and nothing happened after. I applied expedite process for 131, and today 765 shows new card being produced…

It is also valid from the date it was issued and not when the last card expired - if that is useful for you as well.

So do you mean it is from 2/26/2022 to 2/26/2024? For two years that is so awesome!!

This process is extremely stressful and frustrating- as most people here - I attempted to expedite my application many times without any success- and no aid from the Representatives office

I however will talk about hope ( after months and months of worrying- I set up a business but won’t be able to work without an EAD card)

I applied for AOS - GC and AP in April 2020 With expedite request - this was denied due to lack of biometric data - COVID19 closed service center so no update until Biometric appointment was done in August 2020 I received EAD/AP combo card in September 2020

However the card expired Sep2021 But gave 180 days automatic extension Thus my EAD Expired yesterday.

I therefore filed for renewal back in April 2021 - I naturally Still applied for expedite of the application and used the Representatives office to get the case moving forward- to no avail.

30 Days ago I received my GC Interview date Scheduled for In 2 days - (my EAD expired Yesterday )

Perfect timing apart from the Interview is 2 days away from our 2 year anniversary- was hoping to get a 10 year GC without the need to go through the process for removal of conditions process…. Anyway…

Today I received an update on my EAD - card being produced. 3 days before scheduled GC interview??

I wonder if it coincidental with the expiry date of the EAD -

I will hopefully be approved for the GC next week ( fingers crossed 🤞) if there is a delay- atleast I am happy to know i will atleast have the right to work and the documentation in place to prove it for the next year.

I Had my AOS Interview today - we were approved but i was asked to do a new medical as the validity is 2 years???

is this correct ?

i was under the impression that as long as we filed for AOS incl the medical within 1 year all is good -

any pointers thoughts and Ideas are welcome .

the Adjudicator / Officer did ask - when we filed to which we answered April 2020 - this was then followed up with a comment- from him “why did it take so long “ I almost wanted to jump him …..i did control the urge tho - no harm to anyone.

As written earlier this week - I was asked to update my Medical- despite being a K1 AOS applying less than 1 year of initial medical.

I Assume it is due to COVID19 Vaccination.

the Adjudication Officer requested me to obtain a New medical so I didn’t Argue- the Adjudicator have the right to request a renewal of the medical.

it took a little time to find a doctor with availability and the blood work took 72 hours to process - I had my initial appointment Wednesday and received my vaccinations and physical by the doctor today and returned the results to USCIS before closing today.

In the big scheme of things Despite now being $450 out of pocket - i hope the steps resolved my concern about a 2 year or 10 year GC

as my wife and I celebrated our 2 year Anniversary this week.

so now I am awaiting the update on the Status and hopefully soon Issue of the Card itself.

(fingers crossed - a 10 year card)

ironically I received the EAD/AP renewal card today- they issued it with a 2 year Validity.

the Interview was not a special pleasant event but quite Intense experience  - we had ALL our documentation in order and got approved pending the medical- so I can’t really complain.

the weight of more than 2 years of dealing with USCIS. Seemed to leave my body before exiting the Building-

Since Monday The sun shine brighter - wine taste better and my sleep is seemingly deeper - guess I had this on my shoulders for a little while .
