Im in Houston my case is radio silence since I got my EAD( March 2021). Does anyone have the same situation? When can I start to call to followup?

We've had no movement on our case since biometrics in August 2020 :( We called the general USCIS contact number in June and they filed an inquiry for case being outside of normal processing times but of course 30+ days have passed with no reply. We just called again today and filed a second inquiry, hopefully someone actually responds this time. We are planning to give it a few weeks and then try contacting our congress person if they still haven't responded. Such a frustrating process.

I filed in the beginning of April 2020 - still No movement on case since Biometrics August 2020 -this  despite multiple expedite requests and congress representative involvement -

so frustrating indeed -  I just dont get it - the process is deeply impaired if not broken …

up to 36 month processing time - when we applied for K1 visa back in 2019 it was a 9 month processing timeline -

Aparrently nothing can be done to speed things up and get things back on track ..

i am fearing the subsequent steps in our long journey will also be significantly impacted.

Yes and have you notice how they make it harder to talk to a representative? I used to say that "I'm experiencing technical difficulties" to go through but I can't anymore. The whole process is against you.

Why would they even put the NBC in Missouri? One of the most radical state in the country!

But when we talk about processing time that's what get me infuriated, even if they did absolutely nothing during the pandemic it shouldn't add up to 36 months. Maybe 27 at the worst.

They need a serious team of engineer in there to streamline their process. Or else in 10 years, it'll take 3 years to process an AOS.

Hi all, I have some good news to share with you all. I had my I765 and I131 approved today! To give some context, I filed AOS/I765/I131 in April. In May I requested expedite for my I765 as I had a job offer, but it was denied due to lack of biometrics.

About a week ago I contacted my congressman's office and requested their assistance in getting my work authorization expedited, despite my denial back in May. Fast forward to today and my I765 and I131 are approved. I did have to supply my job offer letter as proof that I had a pending job.

I have still not been issued a biometrics appointment, so I will be unable to be issued a card until that is done, but it's a huge relief to know its approved.

I suggest contacting your local congressman/woman for assistance with an expedite request if you have a job offer and want your case approved sooner.

I filed I-131 for my husband back in November 2019 and they asked my for more evidence on September 2020 and yesterday they denied my case. I was so suprised and devastated because I had a feeling they were going to update the case this month but I thought it would be an approval. I gave so much evidence and supporting documents and images and they still denied my case. I felt horrible cried all night about 2 years waiting and this is what I get.

I don't know what to do, I have 30 days to appeal, they had some incorrect misunderstands on evidence I gave them, I contacted a congresswomen in my distract, and a senator, I am gathering up as much new evidence as possible.

I just fear that they will refuse it again and I know the appeal process takes a year itself. does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do???

I am so helpless and filled with grief about this issue, I am a college student and my studies prevent me from traveling to him and I thought by the end of the summer I will finally see him here in America with me and now God choose other plans for us. I hope you guys can help me out advise me on what to do

Thank you

Hi,

so sorry to hear that.. did you mean that you filled i-130 for him? Or just i-131 to go and visit him abroad?

from what status are you adjusting your status that it’s taking so long?

honestly if something like this were to happen I would know what to do and I would probably turn to an immigration attorney. Maybe some people have been in that situation and fixed it themselves and I hope they can help you.

No movement at all since EAD(Sep 2020) as well.  I am sending the renewal documents and maybe that will kick in some attention to my case. People in the same office have gone ahead of me who filled late 2020 or early 2021. Doesnt make any sense. I am the unlucky one who is stuck in "Fingerprints have been applied" status and "August Bio" people group. Last hope is the renewal of EAD/AP will help.

I feel like we’re all losing patience at this time because if it hasn’t happened yet it feels that it could take many more months.

im so tired of hearing about people in the same office that get treated before you even when filing month prior to them.

I’m not sure how you guys are even able to put a service request in yet. Every time I call they tell me I’m in « normal processing » 14 to 36 months. I guess I’ll put a service request in 2023 then..

I know. I used congressman once but it didnt lead anywhere. The last hope is the renewal of EAD card for me. I just sent my docs yesterday and hoping that will kick I-485 into action.

I hope so for you.. I did the same yesterday and added a note in the cover letter to transfer my aos case to my field office. Hopefully they do because there’s no need to stay stuck at the nbc for months.

So I had a chat with Emma online and after connecting to an agent I asked some hard direct questions. The agent replied giving me specifics like my case is still at NBC and is not in queue for my local FO to be scheduled. Also confirmed that it is not changed to Ready to be scheduled due to the background check not being cleared yet. I have a very clean history in this country from F1->H1B->GC, but for some reason they are holding it up. Well all I can do is wait according to the agent. Maybe al the people who are stuck with the same update are waiting on getting the background check approved.

Thanks for this update. We've submitted 2 case inquiries now, the first on June 30 and the second one on August 5. Still nothing. We also tried contacting our congresswoman but I've called multiple times and filled out their online form and still haven't heard anything. It's just so frustrating having no idea what's going on! I'll give it another week or two and then try to do the same thing to see if we can get any additional info.

Interesting, I didn’t know that’s what they did before transferring the file.

I understand the frustration.. of all people you would think it would be so easy to adjudicate a former F1/h1b case.

first we’ve been here for years, going in and out of the country. I met my wife in first year of college, it’s not like we met on a one month vacation abroad.
Also, if you've got a degree from a US university it’s in their interest to process your case, we don’t need to convert a degree from an international university or go for more school. We’re ready to work right now!!
They shouldn’t be dragging their feet so much for a straight forward case like ours.

That's what I was thinking too but maybe its the other way round. My EAD renewal docs just got delivered so hopefully that kickstarts stuff for me. At this point I am just hoping they dont give me a date before Oct 2021 as that will give me 10 year GC.

Also in Houston and had our interview today (26 August). I ended up calling USCIS and trying to expedite the EAD renewal a few weeks ago and we never received a response but a few days later got a notification that our interview had been scheduled. Have no idea if the two are related or just a coincidence!
