My case is a bit weird. I used the old form  i-495 but I did include the i-944 even though the old form doesn't mention it. I read on Visa Journey last minute before mailing mine that we need i-944 so I included it. They still rejected mine and my entire packet was returned in 10 days. On the USCIS website it said that they would reject packets with an outdated form. I had to refile everything; however, I found out about this 2 days after I mailed it and started working on the new forms immediately after that so I was able to mail everything back immediately after I got mine back. I would start filling and allocating evidence for the form i-944 now.

But what kind of documents did you provide with the form i944.i printed all my school diplomas. And I'm not sure if I should send again my husband tax returns bank statements and all that

I only submitted my marriage certificate. Can you direct to where in the instructions it asks for anything more?

Our I129F had so much proof and they still have all that. I filed my AOS only 3 months after getting my I129F approved, so for this reason I feel marriage certificate should be enough. Unless I overlooked where they asked for more than that?

Makes sense if you are adjusting from K1. My husband and I are going from B2 visa to AOS. In our case they have no prior proof of our relationship.

I am the USC. For my husband we attached My retirement account and money markets as assets. Surprisingly he had a credit score and report from when i added him as an authorized user on my credit card last October, we sent proof of medical and dental insurance and his high school diploma. My tax returns and pay stubs were supporting documents for my i 864ez

Hi all,

I have a few questions regarding the AOS package, any advice would be great.

  1. Is at necessary to submit continued proof of evidence of relationship? I have seen some people saying they have submitted additional photos etc. Surely our marriage certificate should be enough proof?
  2. Should my wife change her bank account to a joint account? (I am the beneficiary). I have already been added to her insurance and I have enough savings to help demonstrate that I won't be inadmissible based on the public charge ground

If you are going from k1 to AOS I would assume that immigration already have a lot of documents for proof of relationship. In my case I am the USC and my husband is going from b2 to AOS. we sent everything from events that we did together, hotel and air bnb stays. Pictures, joint credit card and checking account. He's a beneficiary on my life insurance policy, he's on my medical and dental plan, lease with both of our names, both of our names are on the car insurance and title. Same phone plan.

Oh... that makes sense now. Then in your case, yes.. give ALL THE PROOF 😁😁

For my I129F I ended up screenshotting tons of Facebook posts to solidify our relationship as well.

we made ours look as nice and easy to read as possible, i figured if they grab one, they'll grab the easy one lol, but who knows how it actually works.

we sent ours in a small box we purchased from ups, about the size of a binder, not big.  we put our 131 and 765 in a folder, one on each side pocket of the folder with a sticky note saying 131/765. the evidence required for each were behind each of those forms.

then we got an envelope folder (with Table of context) listed on the front.  We placed all the forms and evidence as we listed in the Table of context and used a paperclip to separate each section.

1. I didn't use any sticky notes. But instructions says you can and to put them at the bottom.

2. I didn't do the hole punch- again, not a compulsory requirement, but you can do it if you want.

3. Yes- I had 3 individual envelopes- Envelope #1 had I485, I864, I944. Envelope #2 had I765. Envelope #3 had I131. And labelled each envelope with what was in it.

Then I put all 3 envelopes in a large padded envelope from USPS.

I secured each form along with its evidence separately with a binder clip to differentiate them and then put them in an envelope.

E.g. Binder clip for I485, I864, I944, I765, I131 - 5 binder clips in total.

The I944 Form and evidence needed a special LARGE binder clip hahaha.

Really there are many many ways to assemble  your applications. The bottom line is to submit it in a way that USCIS will accept. Therefore you should go by the guidelines on the USCIS webpage. I do realize that most of us tweak our assemblies a bit and that's perfectly ok. But any outlandish methods  should be avoided. As long as your packet reaches its destination intact and it is subsequently accepted that's ALL that matters!

1) Sticky tabs on top.

2) No holes, used paper clips.

3) All AOS forms in one envelope.

Already got 4 texts so it was okay.

Only used paperclips for attaching the check and passport photos.  Had nothing else since all of my office supplies are at work and now I'm working from home.  I've heard they scan everything at the lockbox so it may just be more work for USCIS to un-attach a bunch of paper clips.

First of all thank you again to all of you for your feedback! I got the final few documents I was waiting for the I-944 and I have assembled the package and ready to be send. I have attached some pictures of how I ended up doing it for anyone who might come looking for something similar. I am so excited that I heading out today to deliver it for the wait to begin!

you want to overwhelmed them with proof to be honest. A financial relationship is huge (joint accts, life insurance, joint medical/dental)

Sorry, to give you some context...I am currently in the USA on a K1 visa, so my wife here in Chicago already submitted proof of relationship for the      I-129F. I haven't seen anywhere on the instruction forms requiring updated evidence of relationship but I have seen various people on this form mentioning getting joint bank accounts, putting wedding photos etc in the AOS package.

Much like @YvetteS I was only planning on submitting my wedding certificate.

Well looks like we will be in the same boat after all. I was heading out and my Wife asked me if I can do it tomorrow because she wants to take a look at it tonight after work! She wants to double check after all the small mistakes I did last time! Haha. I don't blame her.😆

Also are you able to see the pictures I uploaded with my last comment as I am not able to see anything. lol

Anyone here didn't send in i-693 with their original packet? We filed 3 weeks after getting married (1 week after insurance proof received) so we didn't send in the i-693. Heard somewhere that it can be supplemented at a later time. Is that true? Either way, we received 4 text notifs 2 days ago. I am just front running this just in case. Thanks guys.
