We have our interview on Thursday. Equal parts nervous & excited! We're compiling all of our documentation today. For my I-864, I am brining a copy of what I submitted last year, copies of the supporting documents, AND updated documents (latest tax return, W2, and current paystubs).

Is that right? I don't fill out a new I-864, right?

Thanks!

We have our interview on this coming Thursday as well, The "What items to bring" did not state anything about any new forums, just proof of joint assets and relationship stuff. We are nervous and excited! Good luck to you!

Hi everyone!

Our EAD/AP renewal has put us in a bit of a pickle. My husband’s combo card expires on Sept. 22. We haven’t received any word on our green card interview yet, so we decided to go ahead and submit our EAD/AP renewal applications earlier this month just to be safe.

We sent the applications via USPS Priority Mail on May 10 and it was supposed to arrive on May 12. Instead, we received an “In Transit - Arriving Late” update on our tracking page and it has been stuck on that since May 16.

We opened a case with USPS last week and did not have any luck getting any updates from them (followed up with them daily). We didn’t want to delay the renewal process further, so we decided to re-send our applications - this time, via UPS Next Day delivery.

The moment I got home from the UPS store, I received an email from USPS with an update saying: “Our records show the Priority Mail Item #***  was scanned and distributed to the PO Box unit (60680) May 12, 2021. It is very possible for the item to have been delivered without a scan, if an item is not scanned the tracking will not update. Also, it could take up to 15-30 days for USCIS to send a notification of receipt.”

**sigh**

It’s still not a definitive answer or a guarantee that the package was, in fact, delivered safely... but now that our second application has been mailed out, is it going to cause any issues down the line if USCIS does indeed have the original application? We included cover letters on our new applications that explained the situation and stated that this was our second attempt at filing these renewals, but I’m not sure what else to do, since we haven’t even received any case notifications.

Has anyone been in a similar situation?

Thank you!

Hi everyone, we have our interview tomorrow and I’m excited but also very nervous if I have everything ready. Is a new affidavit of support required by my husband as he lost his job we put on the application due to Covid and started a new one? We prepared all tax document and pay stubs but wanted to confirm if we need to fill a new I-864?

Thanks so much!

I had a similar experience with my initial request for AOS - despite being scanned as received by usps . the lockbox facility lost track of my file for 30 days...

i did request the Representatives office involved - that seemed to get the case moving... atleast i received a Receipt Notice..

Case still pending after fingerprints was taken in August 2020 no action despite several expedite attempts..

Hi, I just had my interview at the Santa Ana, CA field office. Interview was at 12:15  and we waiting for a little over an hour to be called in (I regretted not getting a book or something while waiting as you’re not allowed to be on your phone). Our officer was very nice but very throughout so the interview took almost 1.5 hours, even though our case is pretty straightforward. We left the building around 2:45pm. At the end our officer said everything looks good but I was missing the varicella vaccine so she might send me a notice to go to a civic surgeon to get it. I told her that I already had chickenpox as a kid but she said that my medical didn’t say anything about it so I will need to get it done. I’m a little upset because I remember talking about it with the doctor at medical for my K1 and she said I’m all good for the green card process.

Wow, that’s unfortunate. Hoping we won’t need to escalate our case like that as well. We are keeping an eye out for the texts and receipt notices for the renewals. I know it can sometimes take over a month to hear anything back.

Sorry to hear that the final decision got held back because of one vaccine, despite the reassurance you received from the doctor! My husband also had chickenpox as a child, so this prompted us to check his DS-3025. The doctor did check the “Varicella History” box under that category and checked the box “K1 Visa applicant voluntarily completed vaccination requirements,” so I hope that’ll be enough and we won’t have to go through the trouble of seeing a civic surgeon down the line.

We moved from Jacksonville FL to Maryland at the beginning of the year and it is so discouraging seeing all the filers with similar PD in FL get their interviews and we are playing the waiting game. The processing time for Baltimore Maryland is 19 to 41.5 months. Hoping we get scheduled soon. Good thing is my husband is working and able to travel.

5/27/2021 - DFW - Had our interview today,

lots of people where there, they didn't care if you were on the phones if you're waiting, no signs there stating otherwise.

We saw some people come out and had issues, one guy was really strict. Lots of people had lawyers there, we didn't.

Their was about 10+ people doing the interviews. We honestly didn't wait long and they went fast. There was about 50 people waiting.

Our agent we got was a nice female. She asked the basics, How did you meet, do we have a job and she asked for evidence, we gave her all our credit card statements, joint checking, joint titles, joint bills and about 100 pictures.  In the end she only kept 1/10 of the items. She didn't ask for W2 or Tax stuff. She did go on to confirmed everything was correct on the I485. She couldn't given an answer and just stated everything looks good. 2 hours later , status got changed to new card being produced. Good Luck Everyone.

Here is a quick update from us.

Our AOS Interview was on Wednesday, May 19th, 2021. Today May 27th, 2021 my wifey’s 2 year green card arrived in the mail via USPS priority mail. It was sent out on Tuesday, May 25th, 2021 so it took about 8 days from approval right after interview to green card on hand. I hope the rest of you get their green cards soon as well :D

Btw the way, our scheduled appointment was at 1030, we walked in at 1015 and walked out at 1050.

At first we got there really early since we love far away and stranded in the security line because it was long. It looks long but goes fast, we had to step out and wait till it was closer to our time

We passed the green card interview today. Our appointment was a 2PM time frame. We waited around in the waiting room for our turn. We were only interview for approximately 15 minutes. The only thing we didn't check properly was the notice to conditional permanent resident alien letter that we received. It has my name on it instead of my wife. So I'm hoping that the green card will come with the correct name on it.

Husband just received the confirmation texts for his EAD/AP renewal (IOE numbers). Looks like it’s in response to the original application we sent, so I guess USPS did end up delivering it. Case status shows that the last update was May 12, which was when the application was SUPPOSED to be delivered (we never got confirmation from USPS and thought it was lost in transit). We’re relieved that the application isn’t just sitting somewhere or possibly in the wrong hands, but now we’re worried that USCIS will process the second application we sent out and we’ll have to deal with duplicates. *sigh*

We included a cover letter with the second application, explaining the situation and that it was a second attempt at filing, but not sure if they’d just ignore that and process anyway. I think we’d have to go through the process of withdrawing the other one if they do process it. We received these texts about three weeks after the first application was mailed out, so I guess we’ll find out for sure in a few weeks.

Going to the interview today in Santa Ana, CA. I went ahead and filled out a new i-864, just in case, and brought the supporting info. We just printed a few pics and are bringing originals and copies of all the required documents. Hope it goes well. Wife is nervous about what they will ask. I told her not to worry. In regard to the vaccines, we had to get her another varicella vaccine and our child another pneumonia vaccine per the doctor we went to for a new i-693 (our original was two years old). We got that all done and got the sealed envelopes on Friday just before the long weekend - just in time. We went to John Medical Clinic in Fullerton, CA. If you live near there, that was much cheaper than all the other alternatives, and they were helpful and friendly.
