How long do you have to wait from "Case Is Ready To Be Scheduled For An Interview." to "Interview is Scheduled" status?

We've been waiting 7 months. Still in "Case is ready to be scheduled for interview"

Had my interview this morning.. total time 1 hour, which included 20 mins with the officer..

she went through the questions on i485 with me.... I’d made a massive mistake and unknowingly declared myself as a terrorist 🙈I’m former military and answered yes to one of the questions asking if I’d ever used weapons to detain a person against there will, which I did in a war zone... but the questions was asking about as a militant or terrorist type person... lmao she was pretty good about it laughed hard and asked if she should bring in the fbi officer to arrest me and throw me in jail 😂😂 meanwhile my husband nearly died on the spot and called me an idiot...  she changed the answer to no while laughing thank goodness...

Other than the above hiccup she asked just two questions “have we met each other’s family” and did we have any additional evidence to support our relationship..

No answer yet if we passed, no bit of paper or ref... she just said she’d review our file and let us know 🤞

I’m former military

When filing I-485 did you include your foreign military records? I'm also former military and listed it on I-485 but didn't attach any records. After my initial interview in May 2019 I received RFE asking for "copies of your military records and discharge certificate. Please include the name of your units, battalians, divisions you served and locations, and the name of your commanding officer." I've been patiently waiting since responding to that RFE in June 2019 and I was recently scheduled for second I-485 interview on April 6.

Oh wow waiting that long?

yeah I given them a complete record of service issued by Aus military 3 times already (at NVC, and again with AOS/I994 and again today gave her a notorized copy and showed her the original ROS & Discharge docs... our records list rank, battalions and awards but not units, locations, deployments or commanding officers....

personally I just think she was under prepared and hadn’t reviewed the file pre-interview, didn’t ask to see originals of anything and the only reason I gave her my mill records today was in showing her that I was military when trying to correct the question about detaining peeps with weapons... even then she was reluctant to take them saying ‘I’m sure they’re in there somewhere’ 🤷‍♀️Who knows..

one thing surprised me though... she had African flags / colours and BLM stuff all over her office... no way would we be aloud to do that in a government building back home especially an immigration office it would always be our national or state flags or native memorabilia type stuff... it was really kind of intimidating given I’m white and sitting in-front of her seeking a GC

We just came back from our interview and got approved on the spot!!! 🎉🙈 It was so easy and more of a conversation, he asked only a couple questions but said that he believes us. It was such a nice experience and my status already changed to 'New card is being produced

Interview two weeks ago.. still no updates at all.. She said she needed to obtain or original i129f packet as it was at the DEPT OF STATE and could not make final decision until it was in her possession. Just seems odd they wouldn't have all our docs ready, why schedule the interview if you arent prepared? Has this happened to anyone before, we are getting nervous its been two weeks and no updates at all.

Did you submit a new medical report with your AOS? If you have not, that might be the reason to locate the original i129f packet.

Hi everyone. I had my GC interview yesterday at Farifax office. It went well, the officer was nice and she asked around 20 questions (my age, my wife's age, my military experience, the place I work at, etc.) She also asked for lease documents, tax return and documents with my job info. I thought I'd be asked to provide the medical exam documents (I paid 350$ for the med.check) but she didn't even ask for them. Also, I answered some I-485 questions (Yes/No).  After the interview she said she'd recommend us for approval. I've got the notification "the card is being produced" 20 minutes after the interview. Thanks to everyone here and good luck at your interviews.

Hi guys,

I had my interview yesterday at the Louisville, KY office. Husband and I were separated and I was questioned first. He asked and confirmed all the questions on the I-485, and then proceeded to ask questions about our relationship (when/where we met, how long we were together before we got engaged, where we got engaged/married/what was the reception and honeymoon). My husband and I currently live in different locations due to work, so the IO did ask me a lot of questions based on that (no. of bedrooms and bathrooms at each property, who cooks the most, last meal eaten together, hubs favourite food I make him, what we do for fun, and the million dollar question - why did I marry him haha). He said he couldn't approve me that day as he still had to go over new evidence I gave him etc so I was a little worried. He then took my husband in and asked him questions based off our conversation - they came out laughing and talking about boats haha. Hub answered everything perfect, and the IO had told him that he saw no red flags but had to get all the paperwork in line. About 30 mins after the interview, I got an update that my card was being produced so all in all it was a pretty great experience!! Good luck to everyone still waiting for their interview - my advice, relax and don't overthink things :)

We’re still waiting for my husband’s interview appointment. He applied for AOS last April and we’re coming up to the year mark now. When he applied he did not get his medical since we didn’t know how long things would take. But he is contemplating booking his medical now so that he has the paperwork ready when he eventually gets his interview.

Is it worth doing that? Will he have time to book his interview & get the report between getting his interview appointment and his actual interview? We’re torn on what to do since they haven’t updated his case since they scheduled him for biometrics back in July.

We’re super bummed it’s taking this long since all of his belongs are trapped in Canada without his green card. But we’re also pretty happy that our 2 year anniversary is in a month. So, at least he’ll be getting the 10 year GC when he does eventually get it.

Submit a case enquiry FORGET the outside of processing one go straight for “letter not received” or “card not received in mail” got my case moving along fast.. 10 months heard nothing then within a 1 months of pushing the other two my EAD is getting printed and my interview is scheduled. Worth a try at least.

Yeah, he’s going to try that later this month. Is it worth him getting his physical sooner rather than later?

We had a month between when the letter arrived and his interview date (which is next week). We hadn't done his physical yet. We did it the week we got the letter.

Yup we also had about 4 weeks notice. I would find the time now figuring out where you want to get the medical and getting your past vaccination records in order etc. I used https://www.easyime.com/uscis-immigration-doctors-zipcode-20009 to book mine.
