Hey, everyone. April filer here. My interview is on March, 25th but I haven't applied for health insurance.  Will it be a big problem during the interview and can they deny the GC if you don't have it? That's the only thing I'm worrying about. Thanks a lot.

Hey, I was wondering if any of you started the EAD/AP renewal process? Mine expires in July so was thinking to apply from now but not 100% confident on what’s required etc. Thanks:)

As I received mine at the end of September 2020, I will re-apply at the end of March, 6 months before it is due to expire. You have to submit a new I-765 and I-131 (if you want the combo). There is no charge for this if you are applying for I-485 is what I understand.

Are they asking for you to bring a lot of documents to the interview? I have a list including everything I sent in with the application!

I’m still waiting on the interview notice to arrive.. I got the interview date off a T2 supervisor, who told me I can also get the notice offline if it doesn’t come in the mail but I don’t see it... I imagine my list will include stuff sent with the application...

How long did it take for your interview notice to arrive? I’ve been waiting over 3 weeks for it and still nothing

I would assume it depends if you have the financial means to showcase that you would not become a public charge if you had a medical emergency and that you can cover the associated costs - everyone’s financial situation and risk management approach is different-
i also think it depends what you wrote down on the application- -

for me getting a health insurance was a high priority goal - and I stressed about the time it took to get set up amidst a global pandemic-

are you covered by your spouse insurance?

if you are concerned I would begin the application process today and show up with the insurance plan commencing 01 April 2021

In California the open enrollment period ended 31 Jan - so you need to document a life changing event like marriage relocation or parenthood.

As you are not an American citizen- you can get insurance coverage internationally Cygna is a company I considered-

I wish you all the best of luck

I received mine within a week (which actually surprised me lol). Hopefully yours will be coming soon!! Mine said everything that I submitted, plus any new information to support our marriage along with all of our tax and current employer info (mostly my husbands) but I'm including mine to be safe! Can't wait for the process to be done (for 2 years ha).

Thanks, figured as much... I don’t have income since my EAD still hasn’t come through... but guess I’ll start printing off everything you listed and keep waiting patiently for the notice to arrive... hearing you on excitement to be done with all this... 2.5 years for us and I’m totally over it.... but, on the up side we get 10 year cards and no roc thank god.. good luck

Think i'm almost in the same boat as you, probably one step behind as I still dont have my actual date.

I got scheduled for an interview 2/4 but didnt receive my notice in the mail. Have sent the online request to say i didnt receive the notice which has now been referred to the NBC. I have put in requests for tier 2 officers to call me back and still waiting for them to call. Right now i feel like im totally out of options apart from waiting for them to update and say i missed my interview date and hopefully reschedule another! but who knows how long that will take. Judging from other posts it seems like my interview should be next week if not this one :( hopefully someone gets back to me soon.

Reach out to your congressman now. You will get your date within a couple of days if you are scheduled.

Call them, when the stupid computer asks reason say “technical issue” otherwise it won’t put you through or you end up on hold for an hour... I’ve done it 4 times each time talked to a human in less than 3 mins.

Yeh, i have done this and spoke to an agent who put the request for a tier 2 to call me back, that was last week.

The week before i did it via emma who also supposedly put in a tier 2 request call back. So theorectically i should be getting two call backs but as one has now been two weeks and one a week ago its not looking likely.

Tried on the weekend to get a bounceback email, just tried again and it seems like email has gone through.

Thanks both for the help, i really appreciate it! just hoping someone gets back to me, I know some chicago filers who got notification of interview after me and their interview is in the next couple of weeks.
