Quick question, how long is the normal processing time to get the EAD after biometric? I had my biometric on Jan 8. Wondering when can I followup with USCIS?

For me getting the EAD went very fast. I would follow up right away since it takes them a sec to reply.

Congrats!! You will most likely receive your greencard before, which is way better 😊.

All,

Need some feedback. My PD is April 29th and Bio Aug 11th. Got the EAD/AP already but since then no update. My local office is small office and there are people after me in July 2020 and May 2020 PD already done with interview and all. Should I call USCIS rep and follow-up if they lost my file or what's holding up? Thanks in advance.

2020 April filer Bio appointment in August no movement on case since

re EAD/AP I-had some succes i believe by involvement of my congress representative office.  I received the card in September 2020

according to Tier one rep - AOS case is currently   Processing applications with 2018 receipt dates in Los Angeles -

I got a successful response to a RFI by USCIS

my case is with NBC and an inquiry to the whereabouts have been placed - lets see what comes of that -

my Expectations was 5-10 months for the GC not 36 months-

it impairs my posibility to get insurance her in the US and my Danish insurance company is prohibited for insurance activities in the US -

anyone in the same situation?

back to the OP- try and reach out to your Representative office.

I received a rejection to my Inquiry - Expedite denied  - see above - reasoning being the case is within normal processing time which now extend to 36 months.

My Pension Insurance policy is expired from Denmark - i could have prolonged it - but would be taxed double on contributions required to maintain the policy (60 % in Denmark + us income tax on distribution.  Danish finantial companies are not allowed to provide me with new insurrance - and i get turned down again and again because of the lack of my GC.

I do know this is a Luxus problem in comparison to a lot of other people still being separated from their loved ones..  I do have my EAD/ AP card - however uncertain about the travelling - given the risk of being denied re entry to the US.

I do not understand the logic here - the NBC want too assure we are not likely to become a public charge - I am trying to insure myself and my Wife so this will never happen - but am being rejected due to not yet having a green Card.

its a catch 22 situation - frustrating -  the different components of rule and law do not line up to give the best opportunity and possibility - to minimize the risk of ever becoming a public charge.

I knew this of cause when we decided to live in the USA and applying for the K1 visa - back then the timeline looked quite different..

RANT OVER

BTW Does anyone have a good link to keep updated processing times for AOS - family based .. the one i can find list only employment. - i read on here that a few of our fellow april filers have been scheduled for interviews - great to see.. it keeps me hopefull - that this too - shall pass--
