Hi,

I expedited my EAD and they asked me for evidences that I faxed the documents two times, but I haven't received any confirmation email to see if they got my documents for financial loss. Now the status for I765 is "Expedite Request Received". Today the status of I131 was changed to "Expedite Request Approved" while I haven't requested for I131, I requested for I765. Is this a mistake? Anyone has similar situation?

Its a combo card so they are one in the same essentially. Work and Travel authorization

True, but sometimes USCIS issues them separately even though the forms were filed at the same time. That happened to me when my I-765 and I-131 were approved in Sept. 2019.

Another question- how long after biometrics did you all recieve the EAD?

How long it takes for ead to be approved vary from case to case. But most people get their ead approved within 6 to 9 months. The wait can be frustrating but stay strong and be hopeful.

My husband received his exactly 6 weeks after. It seems that this is the norm after a biometrics appointment because I looked a lot of people on here and saw that it takes 4-6 weeks to get the physical card.

Hi All, my original post was going to ask whether people that have had their biometrics done but still no word on EAD approval have tried calling USCIS to check their status and if it was to any avail. After reading the last few pages of thread, I have my answer 😅😭 I had my biometrics 10/22, PD 04/22 and no further word on my EAD, and not holding out hope for anything anytime soon! I feel for everyone out there still waiting on biometrics, EADs and interviews, this process has been a tough one but at least we aren't alone! (I am at the Cincinnati office in case that is anyone else's ASC!!).

We are literally on the same timeline. I’m in Columbus. My husband just got his EAD in the mail today. Has anything changed in the USCIS case status?

Finally my husband received his EAD in the mail today. I’ve just been silently reading everyone’s advice here. Definitely have to learn to be patient. It truly sucks. As soon as we saw the EAD was approved, he applied for a couple of jobs and got them. He starts one tomorrow so it came at the right time!

Did they raise a service request for you? Ideally the agents raise a service request and the response time for the same is 30 days. If your response time has passed with no action, call them back immediately and ask to be put on the queue for call back from tier 2 officer. There is no other way around it. The call center agents will tell you they can only re-submit the service request and you have to wait another 30 days, do not worry. Just ask for the call back. Tier 2 officer will call you within 7 working days and give you an appointment. Make sure you take the request number for tier 2 escalation. If they fail to call you in 7 days, you will have to follow up with that number. All the best.

Hi everyone,

My husband received his EAD/Travel Permit combo card two months ago, so he was finally able to reapply for his SSN (first attempt was unsuccessful because his I-94 expired before the manual verification process could finish).

The process the second time around was still very long, as he had to go through manual verification yet again. He finally received the card in the mail this past Monday. The only thing is that it doesn’t display his full name. He has four names total - two first names, a middle name, and his last name. It should look like:

Name1 Name2 (First Name) Name 3 (Middle Name) Name4 (Last Name)

But the card only displays: Name1 Name3 Name4

The card omitted his second first name. We called our office to ask about it and the agent looked up his information. We were told that their system isn’t set up to fit more than one first name (it can, however, support more than one middle name and more than one last name). They basically have his second first name listed as a middle name. It looks like this in their system:

Name1 (First Name) Name2 Name3 (Middle Name) Name4 (Last Name)

But only Name3 made it to the card as a middle name. My husband’s EAD displays both first names, his middle initial, and his last name. His passport lists all four names and shows the two first names and middle name as his “Given Name.” We were told, however, that only the first and last name are considered “legal names” here in the U.S. and that my husband would encounter the same setup when he goes to apply for his drivers license.

I find this interesting because I also have four names (both my husband and I are from the Philippines and we automatically receive our mother’s maiden names as our middle names upon birth). I received my SSN when my family and I moved to the US back in 2006 and got a new card after I obtained US citizenship back in 2014 - and my card displays all of my names in full. Maybe this issue with their system took place some time after my card had been issued? My drivers license, however, only shows my first name, middle initial, and last name.

Anyway, I’m just curious if any of you have encountered the same thing. I know folks from Latin America also have multiple names, so I was wondering if you’ve encountered issues on your documents upon moving here. Will my husband encounter issues when he applies for work because the name on my his social security card does not match the full name on his EAD, passport, and other documents? The agent from the SSA said it shouldn’t be a problem, but I was hoping to hear from people who are actually in the same boat as my husband.

Many thanks!

One thing I forgot to point out -

I’m also a bit concerned if this is going to impact the green card process in any way. We’re still waiting on an interview to be scheduled. On all of the documents we submitted, my husband formatted his name as:

Name1 Name2 (First Name) Name3 (Middle Name) Name4 (Last Name)

The SSA agent we spoke to did say that we could have all four names appear on the green card and then change social security card to match it. *shrugs*

Asking for a relative: After biometrics does USCIS update case status of I-485? For I-765 it says card produced and I-131 case approved. But no update for 485. It still says fingerprint fees received.

They usually send two biometrics appointment. One for 131/765 and another for 485. Most people ask them to do all three at the same appointment if they're willing. So your relative might have to go in for another biometrics appointment.
