Your PD was April 24th and you are already done??

Congratulations!!

Mine was April 3rd and I just got the "ready to be scheduled for an interview" on November 18th. At least something after such a long wait

Yep. We’re fortunate to live closest to the most efficient USCIS office in the nation. Also the shortest average processing time. COVID slowed things down a bit but yes, we were lucky to get done as quickly as we did. We did nothing special. Filed everything ourselves using the guidance provided on this website.

Good luck to you for a speedy completion of your AOS

I have only managed to secure a biometric appointment! EAD is still far from my view I guess and reading about a month delay from you all is even further frustrating. I have no clue why certain cases have been delayed so much. So for you it has been 20 days with no update? What was the timeline they said you might have to wait?

Yep, it has been 25 days since biometrics and there is no update on my EAD. It still shows " Fingerprints were taken". I called and of course they did not give me a timeframe... just told me to wait..

I had biometrics 30+ days ago and no EAD

Did a service request and got no answer.

All they told me is to do another service request and wait another 30 days.

30+ days?? Yikes...I don't think the service request is helpful at all. Seems like you are already out of normal processing time, have you tried sending an inquiry?

Just another update for all the April filers waiting for their biometric still.  On 16thNov I had one successful attempt at getting in touch with a human rep at USCIS after my service request for biometric raised on October 15 crossed its 30 days mark with no response. When the rep told me they can't do anything but resubmit, I had requested to speak with tier 2 agent. She explained they are no longer doing transfers but she can put me in a queue to get a call back. I had no faith on getting a call back but I just got a call back today on 20th Nov! An officer from USCIS called and got me scheduled for biometric coming Tuesday! After such a long battle with uncertainty it feels amazing to have some clarity and response.

And as of how I got through to USCIS human rep? I called early morning on 16th around 9 AM and when the AI asked me what I wanted I said update on service request. I had to try 5 times for the AI to understand she cant help me and I need to speak with a rep but when I finally go through, the wait was only 2 minutes. So, for the people in the same boat, I certainly suggest requesting a tier 2 call back and getting on that queue.

I am not sure if it helped but I also left a message on the secured communication channel in their website with the details of delay. So you can try that too, just create an account and leave them a message.

Great details, thank you for sending all of that. I pretty much did the same thing about 2 weeks ago and a tier 2 called me back. But she was far not as helpful as the one you talked to. The type that does less than the bare minimum. I've heard of cases where people get scheduled biometrics appointment directly from a tier 2 but it never happened to me. They keep saying you need to wait you're in the queue.. And how long is the queue? how about that? could I at least get that info?

I have never hated a process this much, I usually handle everything on my own and it works great, but when I have to rely on people that's when it doesn't. That's why I have absolutely zero faith in uscis. Their workers have the worst work ethic.

My gosh I'm sorry for ranting like that I start typing in a good mood and I end so mad by the end of the post.

Further update, my appointment is scheduled for tomorrow and I still have not received the notice in mail or e-mail (as promised by the officer). They say you can download it online but I am not able to see any such option in my account. If anyone has had any experience with downloading the document, please share your inputs. Or if someone went to appointment without notice please share your experience.

On side note, I have been successful in speaking with human reps thrice today at USCIS. Sharing the tip that I used, when the AI asks you to state your concern just say you need technical assistance. She will keep saying I may help but if you say you don't need any of that but need technical assistance she will eventually catch up and ask if you are facing a tech issue, say yes and she will connect you to a human. Call between 9AM-10AM, least wait time.

Yup I have tried everything from congressmen to ombudsmen. Nothing worked but when my service request also exhausted they put me in a queue for call back from immigration officers. I eventually got the call back and have my biometric tomorrow. Have you heard anything on your EAD? How long will you have to wait before you can escalate?

I can completely relate with you. It has been more than painful, this whole waiting and unclear procedures. When did they place you in the queue? In general what I have heard in this group and some other FB group, you should get a call within 3 working days. Even I got the call on the third day. And today, I called early morning to place an urgent call back request since I had not received my appointment notice in mail and I received a call back at 11:20 AM which I missed unfortunately but then they make a second attempt which I luckily caught around 1 PM! All set for the bio appointment tomorrow, finally after almost 9 months of struggling.

And please don't apologize for the rant, feel free to rant out anytime you feel the need. This process is insane, we all need to let out sometimes.

Thank you for your rant.......I feel your pain and frustration - letting go and having faith confidence and trust - whatever you call it - in a process that is SO important to us,  is difficult at best-  had the agency involved a positive track record i rcon it would be easier ....

I just got off the phone with A USCIS representative- and she sounded more machine like than the robot answering Machine..

(look now I am the one ranting lol)

Short story Processing time in CA 11.5 - 34.5 months........ my date is 10APR20 so at best next year otherwise in a couple of years..

it is hard not to get frustrated- BUT i will add this.

We are afterall priviledged to be here in the midst of everything and not to be seperated with oceanc between ourselves and our loved ones...

I fortunately have received my EAD /AP card -

Here, the sun is still shining- hopefully you will be able to enjoy it -

Thank you guys for relating with me. I'm actually in a better mood today because my employer seems fine to wait for a bit. I wasn't successful in talking to a live person today, beside emma live chat and it seems she was able to put in a expedite request claiming financial hardship. Not sure if it'll work but it's a try.

Thank you KK and UR for the tip on talking to an actual person for next time.

Also, yes Viking that is a very wide range between 12 and 35 month for your green card! Hopefully you won't have to refile for another EAD extension. I wonder if you'de have to pay for that too..

Did you pay full fee for I-485? If so, initial, renewal, and replacement EAD AP requests are free. https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/forms/i-485instr-pc.pdf (page 18)

Filing Form I-485 with Forms I-765 and I-131

If you properly file Form I-485 and pay the required fees, you may file Form I-765 and Form I-131 without paying additional fees. You may file these forms together, or if you choose to file Form I-765 or Form I-131 separately, you must also submit a copy of your I-797C, Notice of Action, receipt as evidence that you filed and paid for Form I-485.

Thank you for the link. I had already tried to access this but it kept showing no appointment scheduled. I was able to speak with a technical expert at USCIS who confirmed their are certain type of applications where we cannot see documents online. Not sure if all K1 fall in that category but mine sure was. However I have been able to get them to email it to me finally after insane amount of calling them.

oh wow.. I had bio on 10/22 and it's almost a month now. My 765 still shows that finger prints were taken in the status. PD: 04/06 :(

I'm in Colorado.

Just an update. today, status changed to "New card is being produced" :) finally!  by the way I forgot to mention that on Nov 17, they updated the status  on my AOS that they sent us the letter for interview, but it's not in our mailbox yet. 🤨.... there's hope.. keep on praying!
