What was your timeline if you don't mind me asking and when did you take this action? I filed the ombudsman request and they took no action claiming I just have to wait.

Hmmm, what’s your current status? I filed online form at ombudsman website on 14 October and after 5 days I got an answer on my service request for non delivery of the notice for i485. I am not sure what actually worked but I received a response from ombudsman office that they will contact and inquire about my case.

Hello,

My husband and I filed his AOS and EAD in April 2020 and it has been radio silence since then. We have yet to receive any requests for biometrics or anything. Is this normal? Are there any steps we can take to speed this up? We were thinking about getting a lawyer, but if there are suggestions of what we can do before involving a lawyer, that would be helpful too. We are in California if that’s helpful.

Thank you!

@ArtoisRose, what do you mean by "radio silence". Have you got NOAs? Money withdrawn from your account? What is your Priority Date? What visa are you adjusting from? What is your Field office?

Please fill in your Timeline.

Thank you!

Depending on your PD you can do an inquiry online saying your cases is outside normal processing times.

Got Welcome to America letter yesterday. Four days after the AOS interview. The green card has not arrived yet.

Green card received yesterday, woohoo!

Exactly 1 week after the AOS interview.

As to removing the note “Authorized to work by USCIS” from SS card, well - it is not that easy... I called a local SSA office hoping to get an appointment but they explained that due to pandemic and not a “dire” need, if we need to get another SS card without the note, we have to mail them ORIGINAL passport of my husband and his ORIGINAL green card accompanied by SS-5 form. If we feel uncomfortable to mail the originals (we do), we have to wait till they reopen their offices to the public access. Next year sometime...

Hey guys - we got our NOA-1 for I-465/765 April 29th, they took the biometrics and I-485 fees, and since then we have not heard or received anything from USCIS about the biometrics appointment. The longest I've seen timeline-wise for around this filing date was a wait of about 165 business days until the appointment, placing the biometrics letter a few weeks before (around now).

Soooo.....why such the long wait? I get COVID and all but others are getting their biometric appointments scheduled even sooner than this...

Hi Bjh, I'm in the same case than you expect I filled in May (May 4th) and nothing. Have you tried filling a case outside normal processing request? Not promising anything here because some people have actually filed two of these but that could help? We've been waiting 6 months they need to hurry now.

If you call you might have more luck than me. I've called at least a dozen times and nobody has been helping, not even tier 2.

Hi Bjh,

same boat as you! I chatted with a USCIS agent online and they said they would have someone take a look at my case... that was on August 31 LOL

since then, I’ve been checking my status update online and under “Next Steps” it says:

“As of August 31, 2020, your Other - Tier 1, referral number T1SXXXXXXXXXXMSC, is currently not assigned for processing.”

does anyone here know what this means? I think everyone here shares the same frustration as there seems like there is no light at the end of this looooong dark tunnel :( Going to try and chat with them again, but not even sure if there’s a point.

Hi,

I'm not sure where you find the website to check your request, do you mind sending the link to it?

If you put a request in, they should have gotten back to you within 30 days. I've read that they usually take way longer than 30 days to even process that..

Hi Ally&Axel!

You can check your status online at the USCIS website:

https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do

I would recommend signing up for an account so that you can add all your cases and check them all at once :)

And yes, it’s been over 2 months and I haven’t heard back from them lol sigh.

Thank you for your response, We have actually created an account but I thought you said you could check the status of the service request you've put in.

I've put in 2 service request and they should be showing under the case history tab on my uscis but nothing. It's just showing case was received on may 11th.

What are you going to do? Have you thought about reaching out the the ombudsman? Check out this: https://www.dhs.gov/topic/cis-ombudsman/forms/7001 That could help since uscis never got back to you after your case inquiry.

Oh whoops! Sorry for the confusion! When you check your case status it will show your “Next Steps” and mine said “your Tier 1 referral number is not assigned for processing”, so was just wondering if anyone got a similar message too after they requested USCIS to look at their case.

I haven’t thought about reaching out to the ombudsman, didn’t know that was an option! Thanks so much for suggesting that; I’ll definitely look into it! But it sounds like many of us are stuck in the same boat here so I’m wondering if it will even really do anything 😢

Thank you for your answer Lainey,

Hmm good question 🧐

I'm not even seeing anything concerning my case inquiry..

Yes I'm sure many of us are in the same boat. I'll probably wait the end of the 30 days of my case inquiry before reaching out to the ombudsman.

Hi all! I had my biometrics taken on Oct 22, a few days later I received an update that my fingerprints were added to my cases (I-485 and I-765). On Nov 6 I got an update that I am scheduled for an interview, which surprised me because I assumed (hopefully) that I would have had an approved I-765 before that (note - I do currently have a job as I was on a working visa before applying for the GC so not sure if that may have something to do with it?). I'm at the Cincinnati office so who knows how long it'll take for the interview to be scheduled, but is anyone in this situation at the moment? I am glad that things are finally moving to some extent and I'm crossing my fingers for everyone else in the same boat too!!🤞🤞
