To those who just had their biometrics taken, any EAD approval so far?

The waiting is taking forever 🤦🏻‍♂️

I had biometrics (code 3) for my I485 and I765 taken on 10/22. Case Status portal updated last night to say fingerprints were taken for both receipt numbers.

Received another biometrics notice (code 2) in the mail this week for mid-November for my I131, which seemed odd as I thought the first round would cover all the cases and I would get my combo card shortly thereafter

Can you travel anywhere on with Advance Parole? Or only back to home country / Country listed on the form when applying for AP?

Thanks.

Hi Ivette,

did you get an advance parole document or the combo card?

i got my AP document approved but never received it. Trying to get a sense of how long it takes to receive after approval.
thanks!

I have the combo card. I got it a few weeks after my biometrics. AP for me was approved back in July (through expedite), but I couldn't get my combo card until I had my biometrics. I got the card in September.

Hey everyone, just a little update/maybe help for others still waiting. We never received a ssn for my husband i called ss office and was told we should get one within 2 weeks then 6 weeks. After a month of waiting since we received his ead i was just annoyed with the changing story again and again. I faxed over a copy of ead card, passport, ead approval notice, and application for ssn. It was faxed 10/26/2020 never got a call again from them or anything. Today we received his social security card in the mail with the date of 10/26/2020 on it, so our application was processed same day we faxed it. I want to say don’t just sit back and listen to them telling you to wait i was told for 3 weeks the same thing again and again until one nice worker said all i had to do was fax those things in with an application. Never needed to go into an appointment nothing. They verify your information you fax over with uscis and then just mail it to you.

Just was on call with uscis tier 2. My wife has a second appointment for biometrics for form 131. They told her she needs the second appointment becausw its a separate code than the 765 amd 485 forms. Apparently we wont get combo card evem thoigh she filed all together?? :( said it would take 90 days from biometric appointment even though aproval is 6 to 7 months she said from initial filing (she filed in april). Do you think this will take full 90 days to process?

Hi everyone,

Our interview got scheduled on December 03, 2020. However, I 130 is still pending. Do anyone have this kind of experience like interview without approval of I 130? How does this work? Do they both i.e. I 130 and 485 approve together? Filled concurrently on April 27, 2020.

any suggestions appreciated.

Also her case status on form 765 and 485 were just updated to fingerprints taken. Is it possible the tier 2 was wrong and the fingerprints can be applied to the 131?

Yes, tier 2 is most likely wrong. Per the I-131 instructions, AP request based on pending AOS doesn't require biometrics. At the ASC, applicants have been informed the following regarding I-131 notice:

Filing an ombudsman USCIS request brought any practical result in your case? Did you receive a proper action response?

It didn't do anything sadly. I just received an email saying after review they find my case under normal processing time and they cannot do anything about it.

I got a response from the ombudsman office that they have contacted Uscis regarding my issue and will let me know the outcome in 30 days. Within 5 days uscis took action on my service request and sent me the appointment notice.

What was your timeline if you don't mind me asking and when did you take this action? I filed the ombudsman request and they took no action claiming I just have to wait.

hi guys - USCIS rescheduled my biometrics appointment. they said a letter will be sent to us in a week. its been already 7 days now but I have not received my appointment letter. I used the USCIS customer service number but they made it super hard to talk to a customer agent.

I cannot bypass the automated voice message. Can anyone give me a tip on how to bypass the automated message and actually connect to an agent?

Like some of you, my husband received a letter for AP biometrics after receiving the combo card. He went for the initial biometrics on August 28 (that letter specified it was for the I485 and I765 and was code 3). He received his EAD/AP combo card on September 16. On October 17, we received the letter for his I131 (AP - code 2) biometrics appointment scheduled 11/13. We used the Emma chat function to find out if my husband actually needed to attend this biometrics appointment and they escalated the case to Tier 2 who called us back about 4 days later. The Tier 2 officer did confirm that he would need the additional biometrics screening and that his previous biometrics would not be applied - even though he has the combo card and his case has an "approved" status online. Hope this helps anyone in a similar situation?
