Calling won't help, the automatic messaging system just directs you to the website. I did submit the request on the online system, and it says they are supposed to respond by Nov 6. I guess I'll have to wait till then.

I don't mind if the case is delayed, since my mom has no plans to work or travel. I just worry about the case getting declined because we didn't reply in time. I think if I-130 get's approved I can resubmit or appeal on the denial decision.

Ask for a service representative and you shall be forwarded to a human being. Calling early will reduce the wait..

So we had another appointment with MVD to get Arizona ID and/or Drivers License (attempt number two). We brought my husband’s French passport, EAD card and two pieces of mail with his name and Arizona address on it. They took his photo and the clerk started entering (promisingly!) my husband’s info (height, color of eyes, etc) in the computer. Suddenly she stumbled on something and asked for a SS card. We informed her that we applied and are waiting for an appointment with a SSA office. After consulting with her supervisor we were told “Sorry come back when you have a SS card”.

Oh well. At least we tried...

For April filers who have done your biometrics, how long did it take from your I-485 biometrics to "case is ready to be scheduled for an interview?" Our receipt date is 4/15 and we did our biometrics on 8/28. We received our AP/EAD card a few weeks ago but I-485 is still stuck on "fingerprints received."

This actually not happening I just called the line and when I ask for service representative system keeps telling me what else can I help you with.

Others perhaps are having a similar experience ? It seems impossible to get through to an actual human.

First - I would not be so relaxed in your place by waiting until the deadline to contact USCIS.

Second - You have other options of contact USCIS, not only by telephone (if you you were not able to reach a person through their automatic system).

Third - If you get a denial on your AOS, yes... you can resubmit everything again (starting from zero - paying everything again - remember higher fees now - , resubmitting all the updated documents and forms again), not a delay problem anymore but you can be considered unlawful present in US until you figure everything out and have a new NOA1 in your hands.

I would love to contact them now but I'm not sure it's possible.

What are the other options (apart from the phone that seems impossible to get me to a human) I can use?

For the 3rd yeah that would suck. I probably should start gathering all the docs again so I don't  accrue too much unlawful presence.

I called Tuesday very early for different reasons and got ahold of somebody fairly quickly. Sometimes the rep will not be very helpful and you will have to ask for a tier 2 rep.

What did you tell the automessaging system to get a human? It just won't allow me to speak with anyone, it keeps insisting it can only help me and the representatives can't.

I don't remember exactly what I said, but something like "please connect me to service representative" and that I need a status update on my case.

Not sure if this still works or if everything is by speech nowadays:

  1. Call 1-800-375-5283;
  2. Press 1 to continue in English;
  3. Press 1 for case status;
  4. Press 2 if you can't locate your receipt number;
  5. Press 2 to connect to a USCIS representative.

You might be better off calling tomorrow morning. There might not be enough slots available.

Yeah, I'll give it another shot for Monday and Tuesday morning.

Looking for immigration lawyer in the meantime to take over. :(

You can use online tools: https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/Intro.do

Or check other options: https://www.uscis.gov/about-us/contact-us

The best it is to call and talk to a representative. Keep trying.

Good luck!

Just another update. Still no biometrics. We called USCIS and were told we still haven't even been scheduled for one. Our application was received on April 29. By visajourney's estimates we are now past due for APPROVAL of EAD and AP. It's really hard for my wife to keep going like this, it's so ridiculous.

Anyway. That's the end of my venting for now lol

Same boat. No biometric and complete radio silence. Our application receipt date is 27 April, when I called USCIS claiming the EAD is past due, their answer was to wait 15 more days. Depending on what our local field office and when it re-opened post lockdown, we should have received update on EAD within 90 days of reopening. But we haven't even received the biometric appointment yet.

Doing nothing but adding to your vent honestly.

I am in the same exact boat as yours. PD is 04/29. Got the EAD/AP document already and no movement on the I-485 side. Still stuck on fingerprints received. Wonder when that will move.

Same here. No bio, nothing. Pd date April 7. Very disheartening.

I also haven't been able to speak to a representative.  They made it impossible. If anyone figured out what to say please post it.
