We're still waiting for a biometrics appointment at the Salt Lake City office. Got our NOA on April 16 and USCIS received our RFIE response on May 27. I read somewhere else that the SLC office had to reschedule 6900 appointments before making new ones and that they were only scheduling 40 a day. Anyone else here in SLC that could confirm this?

Wow! If that is true then they need almost 8 months just to finish rescheduling. Again I wouldn’t believe all the rumors plus that USCIS has started reusing old biometrics for renewals. This will reduce backlog. Honestly another point is that they cannot move forward with anything (I-131, I-765 and I-465) without biometrics. USCIS needs the money for all those service and needs to finish then in a timely manner. Hence there will be a delay but not years or so

Yes, my family-based application was received April 7 and my NOA is dated April 17. I eventually got a biometrics notice for I-485/I-765 dated August 11 which came in the mail August 18, for an appointment on August 26.

It's probably just a coincidence but on the morning of the 11th I used Emma to ask if biometrics had been scheduled yet and the answer was no. My work authorization is expiring so I tried to ask if there was a way to push it along and they said no again.

It was fairly busy (considering COVID) when I went in with about 5 other people waiting to have biometrics taken around the same time.

Later that day the egov.uscis.gov tracker updated to show "Case Was Updated To Show Fingerprints Were Taken" on my I-485/I-765/I-131 cases even though I-131 wasn't checked on the form they printed at the ASC.

As per Reddit and your post Seattle ASC seems to move towards scheduling and might USCIS reuse old biometrics for renewals. To that extend it seems that currently for Seattle ASC office the delay is 3.5 to 4.5 months depending on your application and complete luck ;) Before covid the time for biometrics was 1.5 to 2.5 months. Hence this adds up to 2 to 3 months.

Interesting is that mine (employment based non concurrent) and yours (family based) applications are going to National Benefit Center. This center has a bare minimum of 5 months to issue EAD cards. Hence a delay to biometrics might not affect our final timing for EAD AT ALL :(

But thanks for your reply and please update your timeline to get an info when EAD card will arrive etc.

you ask for SSN in EAD form

Yes, I know. We did ask for it in the form.

But how do you receive it in reality? How do we know what my husband’s SSN is? It is not typed in EAD.

Of course it's not typed on the EAD. He'll get a SSN card just like you have one from the SSA. Usually one or two weeks after the EAD arrived. If not call SSA and try to get an appointment to apply for one.

Ok, thanks for the explanation!

PD April 10th, did biometric for i 765 and i 485 on August 12 (Code 3), then I 131 on August 26 (Code 2). Both I765 and I 131 have updated to say fingerprints have been applied. I 485 is now "ready to schedule interview".

Waiting patiently for AP so I can return to Canada to settle some affairs. This is very stressful. I hope it's worth it for each of you. Not being able to use your passport for several months and having it be at the mercy of a company with little transparency is infinitely frustrating.

Anyone with similar timeline getting their card? In California, filed with NBC.

That's my worry right now. SSA in California isn't open, so I'm not sure how he would get his SSA right now. But still, it's nice that he has an official document that say's he's allowed to be in the US now.

My husband's timeline is pretty similar, and he's also Canadian.

Biometrics on August 12 for 765 & 485 (Code 3) in California.

He received his EAD card last week. AOS still says "Biometrics scheduled". And AP still says "Case Received". So he messaged USCIS yesterday to inquire about the AP status, as we were expecting that to be combined. Especially since he submitted the 765 after the 131...Almost a month after I think.

But currently, our timeline is projecting that the AP will be approved in November right now.

Hi there,

Please feel free to monitor our timeline as it is about 10 days later before yours PD April 1st, 2020 and we are still waiting on the Combo card. Good luck and I hope that you receive your combo card soon.

It’s supposed to be a combo card, but for some reason is EAD doesn’t include the AP.

I am receiving a letter from USCIS today. It was sent a day after I did my biometrics. Do they send a mail saying that the biometrics were taken? Is it a thing? My case moved to Case Was Updated To Show Fingerprints Were Taken on the same day they sent the letter.

Those who got their combo cards in the mail, If you didn’t get a SSN earlier, how do you get one now?

I received my EAD/AP combo card two days ago (August 29). I opted to be issued a SSN card on my 765 form.

I've been calling SSA basically everyday since them to check if my name shows up on the system. Nothing has showed up for now.

I'll keep making calls, if I see that it doesn't show up for the next two weeks, I'll send my EAD/AP + passport to my local office to be issued a SSN card.

Have you filled the I-765 and I-131 applications at the same time?
