Should I move?

I'm planning to move in with one of my sisters while my home is being sold. It's where I raised our family with my deceased husband, and my new husband, family and I have decided it's best to sell it and buy a new place here, when my husband comes (insha'allah); a place that can be ours so we can make new memories there. I'll be sure to file an address change with visa authorities.

What I'm interested in is how, if, this affects our filing, as I will not be living in my own household. Nothing will change about my earnings, I make many times more than the 125%, but will I need to include my sister's income with mine because I'm in her home? Would I no longer be considered to have a domicile? My husband will be interviewed while I'm in this transition period. We don't want to lie about any changes. Anyone had this happen and know how to handle it?

Thanks in advance!

Based on your circumstances, the only worry I see with an address change during the visa process is missing mail being delivered. USCIS is notorious for ignoring or otherwise failing to complete address changes. Their mail carries a no forward order. Your timeline indicates any visa related mail will go to your husband in Morroco, so this is of little concern now anyway. Once you move, your new address needs to be on any papers your husband fills out in Morroco.

Domicile is not an issue. You have one at your sister's home. No, you need not include our sister in any affidavit of support. You already provided one anyway.

Salaam Alaikum,

I did take a look at your timeline. It seems to be your paper are at NVC now. If that is the case, just inform NVC (email them) about your change of address. You don't need to include your sister's income, though you will be living with your sister. I think, your income is good enough for I-864. Good luck!

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview
