Now that's another matter I front loaded my K1 BIG TIME everything but the kitchen sink so to speak. They did return some of the K1 items to my wife at POE, but I was amazed that in that envelope they give with the visa that is the entire initial K1 packet in hard copy form!!!!! I did not submit ANY relationship evidence other than the marriage license and the support documents with the I-485. I know its hard to figure how they made their decision. I think there is way more criteria other than just your interview was cancelled and I understand that is what we are trying to figure now. Could be they referenced our K1 packet to aid in their decision to wavier us! I think USCIS does indeed have information from your K1 they would have to I suspect.

Thanks!

So yeah, sounds like they relied on any notes + what was previously submitted.

I think everyone with K1 would have a decent file of evidence though to get through that stage. hmmm who knows how  theyre deciding it, I still havent seen anyone else through K1 get waived unless anyone knows differently ?

The guy I found on another forum was a J1 Visa and he was wavered too. I don't know what a J1 is so I can't talk that to you.

been watching from the outside since sarge released this exciting info. I’m aos via b1/b2 visa. So far no word on whether anyone who has filed under b1/b2 has been granted the waiver but hopefully someone will. I was unfortunate enough to have my interview scheduled for March 17. With no indications that the interview would not happen ( official statement was made March 18th and the website was saying my office was operating per usual) only to be told by security that the office was not going to be holding any interviews. But hoping to hear someone with my type of aos lucking out on this waiver too!

I've been on a J1 before. It's a Work and Travel student visa. I don't know how it can get waived, because interviews are usually done by beginning of March.. but what do I know?! 😅 My case still says "ready to be scheduled" after it was cancelled.

It was probably a marriage based AOS from a J1. At least that's what I can imagine
