I'm not sure why the other VJ members feel the need to hammer onto OP for making a mistake and just add to the panic? If the goal is for OP to hang out on the forum and find information here, then perhaps they should realise how unwelcoming they currently are.  

 

 

Anyways, as @Ray.Bonaquist said; it seems like they still accepted your packet OP and that they're still going to process it, but they wanted to let you know that you 'overpaid' and that they're returning this 'payment'. Since the default for of payment is by cheque, this language would've applied to a returned cheque, in this case however you opted for CC so they just shredded the excess forms. They just didn't bother customising the language in the letter to your situation.  

 

I'd suggest keeping an eye out for you mail, email and text (assuming you've filed a G-1145 with it), you should receive confirmation within a day or 10 under normal circumstances. Also keep an eye out on your transactions. Payment = acceptance of packet.

I was able to talk to someone on this forum who made the same mistake but hers also went through. We are crossing fingers now to hear back soon since we've been waiting for so long.

So we just received this email from the lockbox support:

 

"Good day,

 

Your I-485 was rejected by the Lockbox because of incorrect fee. The rejected package, was returned to the address provided on the form.

 

When you refile, you may resubmit the same package along with the filing fee, provided that the information on the form, the form version, and the supporting documentation are still current and correct. The data we have recorded on checks or printed along the edges of documents that we have previously processed will not have any impact on their acceptance with subsequent filings."

 

Now we are confused since we didn't receive our package back. We tried calling them to find out if it all was rejected and if we have to refile again but they still couldn't see us in their system.

 I am in the same situation as you.  i just received a rejection notice with exactly the same wording as yours. I had sent in two credit card authorizations.  One of them has gone thru the cc. The other debit has not taken place.  I may have submitted it for 1230 instead of 1225.   I did receive one receipt number by text for another form for $435 which was the fee for I 360.  But today I have received this rejection notice which does not have that receipt number and field is left blank. so quite unsure what they rejected,

 

 I have not yet received the 2nd email you received from LOCKBOX support.  but from your post I gather it came about a week later.?

 

Did they ever send you everything back?  Did you have to file the whole package again?  Grateful to know how your processing went.   Many thanks in advance for your help.

On the USCIS website you can calculate your fees and make sure that your check is the exact amount. That was why the package got rejected but we also found little things we missed the first time around. Lockbox takes about 30 days to reply unfortunately..

oh man, the first page was full of really harsh responses.

 

fwiw, i also had a charge authorization page for each payment. one for biometrics, one for 485, and one for 130.
