Under Parent 1's information question 30 (Country of Birth) should I put Puerto Rico (where my mom was born) or USA seeing as it is a territory of the United States? Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Timeline

I was born in Puerto Rico and I am the Petitioner ( i lived there until i was about 2 years old then moved to mainland).  So far I have had no issue regarding that or my birth certificate.  I did have to get a new one issued bc of a huge scandal in 2009 but thats a story for a different time. Safe to say you can put Puerto Rico and still be fine! Cheers and good luck!

If your mother was born in PR then list PR as her birth place. Sometimes these documents can be confusing because as humans we love to "read into things."  It would be easier if you were to "literally" read the question and answer as such.

During some of the questions we who want to answer need certain information such as a timeline or flag of the country you will interview in there in your profile that you see in the left hand column. If you could complete that section we would all be grateful.

Later on we want to reply to your question(s) with factual information as each embassy processes differently.
