We received the official document indicating his interview date is March 11 and not April 7th as it said in the email!

Question: I am looking at the documents required for him to bring for his interview and it says for naturalization as the spouse of a US citizen he will need my birth certificate or naturalization certificate or certificate of citizenship.
We had submitted a copy of my passport (which is allowed) in our application to prove my citizenship. I do not have my birth certificate...just a photocopy of it because the original went to USCIS back in 2013 for the CR1 and it’s been misplaced somehow. Do you think they will accept my passport? Or do I need to rush order a certified copy of my birth certificate?

Keep on looking for info around, but I would say the passport is sufficient. A passport is only issued to a US citizen. It is issued only if you have shown a birth certificate, naturalization of certificate or certificate of citizenship. So a passport is proof of citizneship. Plus I just read the instructions (wasn't sure because I filed under the 5 year rule and all this wasn't necessary). It says:

If you are applying for naturalization on the basis of marriage to a U.S. citizen, send the following 4 items:
1. □ Evidence that your spouse has been a U.S. citizen for the last 3 years:
a. Birth certificate (if your spouse never lost citizenship since birth); or
b. Certificate of Naturalization; or
c. Certificate of Citizenship; or
d. The inside of the front cover and signature page of your spouse’s current U.S. passport; or
e. Form FS-240, Report of Birth Abroad of a Citizen of the United States of America; and

So section (d) is all you need. Why are you worrying about birth certificates and all. Just do what is asked in (d). It's not AND, it's OR.

The problem is I think they print something different on everyone’s form. For his letter for the interview it just says to bring:

-marriage certificate

- proof of death or divorce for each prior marriage of yourself or spouse

-your spouse’s birth or naturalization certificate or certificate of citizenship.

Where did you see the instructions you are quoting? I will look into that.

1 day after my biometrics. It updated to “case is actively being reviewed by USCIS”

what does that mean? Did you have that update  too? 🙂

I had that status change about 30 minutes after my biometrics appointment. Then a few days later I got my interview date.

Similar experience here. Had my bio appointment last month, and then only 4 days later the status changed to "case is being actively reviewed" and then to "interview was scheduled" on the same day just a couple of minutes apart.

Wise decision. I have seen several Chicago people in Facebook groups who filed long after you guys who have already gotten their interviews. No way you guys should have to wait any longer now.
