I feel if you've come this far with that GC that maybe it's not a big deal? Might be worth calling USCIS to get their opinion. I'm surprized they didn't notice the error when you filed, since it must be easy to see.

After inquiry for status on biometrics, we received this response:

 

Requesting information about your N-400, Application for Naturalization:
Your case is awaiting the required biometrics submittal, and is currently in suspense until you complete this process. Your application information has been entered into the system which schedules applicants for biometrics at their local Application Support Center (ASC). Biometrics appointments are scheduled as slots become available at the ASC. Once you have been scheduled for an appointment, you will receive an ASC Appointment Notice to appear at a certain date and time at your local ASC. You must take the ASC Appointment Notice and photo ID to your appointment. 
Once you have been scheduled, you may view and print a copy of your USCIS ASC Appointment Notice within your USCIS online filing system account. After you log in to your USCIS online filing system account, access the Home Tab to find the "Documents" field to view or print your official appointment notice from USCIS.

It is weird since they have my correct name and last name in their system and all notices use the correct order.

 

I was just curious if that might affect the naturalization process.

I received the same response thrice. It's a script they have that they just send out. You will get this same response in 2030 at this rate. Nothing will ever change unless someone with power brute force schedules the insane biometrics for you.

It's not that surprizing given that biometrics are the lowest on the totem pole right now. They're still focusing on rescheduling and scheduling interviews for folks at my local office. Last I checked they were doing that for people who filed in December 2019. So, eventually, they'll get to us April filers...

If only we'd gotten the stupid biometrics before the shutdown. 

 

I read on a different thread that s/o who filed in May or June got biometrics-brand new, not rescheduled, at the Chicago office.

 

Btw, I am a mid March filer. I just figured that the April thread is close to mine --sorry about that.

Thought I’d share my experience today. I used live chat to ask about my case because it’s been almost six months and no biometrics appt. I’m an electronic filer and my closest field office is baltimore. I was told that offices had discretion to use biometrics on file, and in my case I wouldn’t be required to attend a biometrics appointment. I hope that’s really true. Definitely recommend using the live chat to get an update. Tried three times calling and couldn’t get past the automation.

Would you mind sharing the email address? I've not heard anything for the biometrics appointment for +3 months now and wondering if I should shoot an email to make sure my file is not lost or something...

You can message them inside your account at My USCIS.

 

Just take into account that they are scheduling biometrics for people who applied in March-April right now.

Thanks, it depends on your locations and perhaps luck. I know at least two people applied in Aug and already done or scheduled for the interviews in 1-2 weeks (one in New Mexico and other perhaps Florida).

It's really annoying that it's so dependent on the local office. It's hard to get answers from USCIS because someone working on answering questions from people who contact them may have no idea what is going on at the local office.

 I understand that if more people apply, they have more cases to process, but there should be a way to communicate with the local office.
