Can confirm. On my.uscis.gov site. Shows October 2020 estimated completion (6 months)

Expand

Well then, let me take a look and see what it says for mine!

Edit: I see it, says:

Estimated case completion time

September 2020 (5 months)

Unfortunately, that may not be the case for us because we have to move to another state soon. Nevertheless, I'm glad to see they're posting at least an idea of how long it will take!

What state are you in? I believe the processing time is dependant on the local office.

lol .. Yanisa's says "Jan 2021 (9 months)" .. Honolulu

Anyway, who knows when we'll actually be able to safely fly inter-island to Honolulu or physically go into an office?

I think the good thing is that we're in the queue for now and we'll be ready when they restart office visits.

I’m in Washington state. True, the processing time is based on the local office.

I'll be interesting to see how accurate these estimates turn out to be.

Hey m,

I'm curious do you plan on filing in one state and then moving to another state afterwards?

I might be in a similar situation and im worried if it's a risk worth taking as some posts here show there were no issues and interview was moved to New state but some weren't so lucky. Seems to be down to the expertise of the specific IO.

We've already filed then we will move. We will update our address with USCIS once we know what it will be.

What do you mean by "some we'ren't so lucky" - what happened at the interview?

I spent a couple hours going through many threads posted for "moving after filing n400".

In some cases they were still called to interview in the old state and weren't approved. But there are several threads stating how the IO did their interview in the old state and referred them for oath in the new state. So I couldn't really establish 100% if it won't be an issue. But I really wanna move to the new state and not filing in this old state means I have to wait 3 more months to be able to file from the new state.

If the address is updated with USCIS I'm pretty sure than can be avoided. Also, maybe those cases moved right around the time when their interview was about to be scheduled.

We filed in April and will be moving in May. It is early on in the process, biometrics will obviously not be scheduled yet due to Covid-19, we will update the address and there will be plenty of time between the initial filing and the biometrics appointment in the new city. That is our plan.

Based on how confident you are about this, it gives me hope as well as I'll be moving about a month after filing as well. Did you do any research on why it won't be an issue?
