Is it only two to three years?

I can not get all my taxes return for the last five years transcripts only till 2016.
What should I do?

Thanks.

Okay so first you need to take a step back and understand the law for applying for Naturalization. In order to gain citizenship, you have to qualify for an eligible category, whether it be marriage based (3 years permanent resident) or time based (5 years permanent resident) . When you elect a basis for action, you must demonstrate GOOD MORAL CHARACTER during that period. Good moral character means no arrests, you paid your taxes, you didn't engage in prostitution, you registered for the selective service, etc...  within that specific time period.

So as it relates to taxes, for marriage based you need to show you paid your taxes in the past three years, otherwise you need to show the past 5 years.  You can give them your own copies, or you can obtain an IRS transcript online and provide that to USCIS. You should also know that the USCIS and IRS do not talk to each other. The IRS  has refused to cooperate with immigration matters as a matter of process, so what you send the USCIS will not be verified with the IRS. But send in fake tax returns at your own risk, it is an extremely serious offense to materially provide false information to immigration and you could soon find yourself on a plane back to somewhere you don't want to go

Arrest doesnt necessarily not good moral character. Its the conviction that matters.

Estimated wait time here changed to one month less, so it's now

  • Estimated case completion time January 2021 (4 months)
  • Estimated wait time: 2 months

I assume the 2 months is estimate time until biometrics?

No changes on either status though.

Thats awesome! The estimated completion time on mine says December 2020 but nothing on Estimated wait time. it still says we are taking longer than usual. I wonder if theyre skipping biometrics and not sending notices out. because the time frame is a bit weird being that it takes 2-3 months to get an interview and 2-3 weeks for the oath after interview has been approved.

It seems the skipping the biometrics is going field office by field office, kind of like the same day oaths? Maybe mine is still planning to do biometrics, but yours isn't?

Yeah I havent gotten anything about biometrics. Its just weird, I feel like getting in contact with them to get some info, but I know I will get the regular scripted answer 😕😣

Mine still says September 2020 for Estimated case completion 😬

Estimated wait time: still say they are taking longer than expected.

That tells you how screwd up this whole thing is. I just pray we can all get some positive news within the next 2 weeks.

I had submitted my i751 over a year ago and had heard that those who'd also filed their n400 could receive a combo interview which would expedite the usual wait time for citizenship. Well, I finally heard back on my i751 and they have scheduled an interview for October, but there's no mention of the n400 unfortunately... Does anyone know if they stopped doing this or have any other info?

It will be more likely a combo interview for both applications. When you filed for N-400 ? Which field office??

I thought it would, but looking at people who've previously had combos, they received a notice for their N-400 and not the i751 so it's seeming unlikely... unless they have another update for me between now and my interview date. I filed my N-400 in April online. My field office would  be San Antonio (I think)

All the best for the interview. Prepare well. Can you please let us know if you got any notification about biometrics reused for N-400 ? And when your I-751 transferred to local office??
