Did you get any reply from her?

I did not get a response from Susan but hopefully, if a lot of people contact her, they will realize that this really is a big problem worth pursuing. Lets hope.

The below was posted in the May 2000 thread and in the  "Federal Records Center" thread.  I just sent an email to Susan, we should all contact her. Anything she can do to get things moving would be fantastic.

-----------

The law firm Mintz Levin is interested in talking with constituents about their naturalization applications that are not moving forward because the files are sitting at the Federal Records Center. If this is of interest to you, please reach out to Susan Cohen at SJCohen@mintz.com and title the subject line "Federal Record Center" in your email.

Please know that this outreach will be at no cost to you and they will not provide legal advice. They are exploring how large an issue this is nationally so that they can address the situation head-on.

------------

Right, a law firm offering help "at no cost". Who knew this was a thing?

I want them at least to let me know which agency like in other states they same the national archive, but my field office doesn't think it even necessary. My concern is that my step son applied after me for naturalization and he is a citizen already, so what is the b.....t about all the other agencies. They obviously needed A-case for his naturalization. Just doesn't make sense!!!! I think that we all just at least deserve an honest reply stating what exactly is going on with our case and what to expect, but they are not giving us either (((((

Yeah so this the ####### that I don't get.
If applications are processed in order they are received, why newer applicants are completing their process before old applications IN THE SAME FU**N FIELD OFFICE? Can anyone help me understand this please?

I wrote to that lawyer too but got a general reply that she is out of office until the 9th. I think that the more noise we make the better. They need to hear about us!!! I got a reply from ombudsman stating that they are closing my request as my congresswoman couldn't help me!!! I think they all know what is going on but its not in their power to do anything that is why it needs to be moved to the next level!!!!

Wow. Ombdusman doesnt seem any use. Seems the only option is a lawsuit then. Makes no sense that only march-july cases are stuck in the FRC while other later filed cases are being processed...

As of right now  as I can analyze with my brains there is one reason for us to be stuck- our a-cases that are very old and are still in paper copy in archive(( my family applied in 2021 for green card so I guess we are still on paper. Guys let’s make a money fund so the archive people can get back to work and send out our files to our field offices )) I’m serious !!! I think this is the only way to get our naturalization right now!!!!!

Got completely useless reply from ombudsman. So frustrating.

"Thank you for contacting the CIS Ombudsman’s Office.  In response to our inquiry, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) indicated that your case is under active review.  However, USCIS  was unable to provide a specific timeframe for resolution of the case.  Once USCIS has issued a decision or other notice of action, USCIS will notify you my mail."

Is that a joke?

This is what I got:

"Thank you for your request for case assistance.  In response to our inquiry, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) indicated that your case is under active review.  However, USCIS  was unable to provide a specific timeframe for resolution of the case.  Our office will continue to monitor USCIS’ progress on a regular basis until there is a specific action or resolution.  We will notify you  when we receive an update from USCIS."
