Filed in April 2020, finally got Biometrics Reuse letter today. 

A little surprised because last time I did any biometrics was 8 years ago.

I think they run background checks and if they don't see anything suspicious and the old prints are still deemed usable, then they just waive it. I really hope that's the case for most people because demanding people to physically go in only for fingerprints/photos will do nothing but bog down the backlog even more.

I guess biometric reuse is really random. My last biometrics was 2018 and they didn’t reuse mine.

It does appear really random....I wish there was more order and logic to the whole process. Let us know how your biometrics go.

October 2021? That seems absurdly long. I've heard that the estimation dates are not accurate.

i filed on April 26, 2020. I dont know if it’s because i messaged them last time about my case, but i’m sure you’ll get an update soon! 
 

I wonder if other Chicago filers have waited for that long to get their case completed.😣

Hi everyone.

My interview is coming up. Applied in April 2020. 

I would like to make sure since I applied before December 2020, I am taking the old version of civics test, right?

Applied April 1st....but he filed in another state, and then we moved to the Chicago area in May. Filed AR-11 address update May 5th, AR-11 was processed May 15th. Myuscis used to say "Your application is being transferred to another USCIS field office for review" but then that disappeared, now there's nothing at all under the status except "Invalid date Case Was Received and A Receipt Notice Was Emailed". I never received any kind of official confirmation that the case was actually transferred.

 

How did you message them again? I've tried doing the "open case inquiry" back in July, but all I got was a generic copy/paste with this in October:

So basically they told me nothing. Is there a better way to contact them to get actual answers?

I messaged them about my biometrics appointment. they didn’t get back to me until 2 weeks later but with also like a generic response. Then like a week letter i got my biometrics notice.
