Is I-693 always required?

Hi all,

I have read a bit about this and am still a little confused so am looking for a final answer.

I had my medical examination which confirmed completion of all my vaccinations 2 weeks before I entered the USA on a K1 visa in February. I am preparing the AOS so should I submit the DS-3025 I received at the examination instead of the I-693 or are there some parts of the I-693 I still need to complete?

Thank you,

Beckie

Read the K visa specific instructions in the I693 instructions.   You will see that most k1s are covered.

You can submit the ds3025 but it is not required

YMMV

Send a photocopy of your vaccination sheet as a reminder you have already met vaccination requirements, but the original from your medical exam should make it’s way to your AOS file.

Thank you both for replying so quickly - this is reassuring.

For anyone else who stumbles on this thread:

The I-693 instructions states that as a K-1 fiancée of a U.S. citizen who received a medical examination prior to admission, then I am not required to have another medical examination as long as I file the Form I-485 within one year of the examination and no specific conditions were found.

It then goes on to say that "even if a new medical examination is not required, you must still show proof that you complied with the vaccination requirements" suggesting the vaccination record (DS 3025) is required so I will send a photocopy, rather than the original.

DS3025 will certainly be sufficient, however just note that this relies on the officer reviewing the case to understand that fact or that they don't lose it, or that they just don't look things up. So don't be surprised if they ask for it later on or make some error resulting in you needing it later on (like they did to us). But be very happy if they know what they're doing and don't ask. :-)

You need to read closer.  Your personal copy of the ds3025 isn't valid because I assume the chain of document custody is broken.   If the ds3025 was included with the medical report then it is acceptable

YMMV

The clinic In London gave you a photocopy, not original. The original went to the embassy in your medical report > to you in the sealed white envelope > to your POE > to storage. That whole medical report (and the rest of your files) is ordered out of storage when you submit AOS application. But as always, never mail off your only  copy of anything.

That is so helpful - thank you for explaining in more detail as I have no idea of what the process is on the other side :)
