Even if it’s being scanned by me and submitted online?

I mean its entirely possible that it will be ok. My view is that the things that are in our control we should try and make as perfect as possible. Totally your call. If it was me I would redo it and make sure everything was perfect just incase there would be a 1% chance that the person who looks at it would reject it.

If I had a way to save it, or a personal computer I would do it that way too.... it’s getting extremely frustrating because it won’t even let me copy and paste the addresses from the work history so I had to type each one out while comparing it to the addresses I had typed up previously, and I had to rush to do it at work and print it, and my husbands work history alone took up 3 full “extra information pages”. I wish they would at least make it easier to do online if they want it typed up.

You should be fine, but another option would be to simply hand fill it out.

Good Luck!

They will not accept white out, it will damage the automatic scanner feeder. These papers are not placed on the glass scanner individually.

This is for an online I-130 application so I am scanning the I-130a myself and uploading it to send with my online I-130 application

I am filing I-130 online for my husband. I’ve read on here that if spouse is overseas, the spouses photo is not required to submit I-130, but apparently it is required if I-130 is submitted online?

My husband and I were going to attempt to take the photos ourselves and use the USCIS online tool, but when I tried taking one as a practice run in front of a white wall, the wall appears very yellow in the photo... (I haven’t cropped the photo on USCIS website yet so I know the size isn’t right.)

but if we do our own photos, is something like the white wall appearing yellow-ish or something like that going to be an issue? I know it says “off-white” is ok but...

I could try to find a place that is still doing passport photos here in the states for myself but I think my husband will have a hard time finding one that meets the US requirements in Japan? Not completely sure though...

I recommend this app I will link to below. It is free for basic use, and awesome for that, but I think the full paid version is worth it ( Around 5.99 when I got it, I used some google credits I didn't know I had), but it is the best, any county, any size, and easy printing at your local walmart/cvs, etc. and it sets 6 photos on a standard 4x6 jpeg you can print out at any photo service ( Walmart charges .09 cents for 1 4x6, so you get 6 passport photos for under a dime) You want to use it because it has a feature that will change the color behind the photo to whatever you want, in this case white, and it does a spectacular job. I've been using it for years and have yet to have a photo rejected. and when I need a bunch of photos I load up a 8x10 with 20 photos, and get 20 passport photos for 1.79. Usually free because I get free 8x10's coupons all the time. Link below for google, but I believe IOS ( Apple) has it also.

Why are you uploading a form that's part of the online process? There are no forms you have to upload for online filing all the questions are there. Throw that 130a away.

Case Complete to Interview spreadsheet

From now on your VJ Member name will be verified. If the name you put on form to be added to spreadsheet comes up not found, you will not be added to the spreadsheet. If you don't have a timeline you will not be added to the spreadsheet.

Please Please put your VJ member name only. Not nicknames or real names whatever your VJ name is. It's below your profile picture!!

ok so explain this part on the online I-130 to me.

this is on the online I-130 application.

the other questions on the I-130 have nothing to do with my husbands work history or his parents, which is what the questions on the I-130a are in regards to.

Do NOT throw away the i-130a!  In the online filing process, the i-130a still has to be filled out as normal and uploaded as a pdf file.

I just noticed on my life insurance policy, my husbands full address also includes the Japanese term “kamimachi (上町)” meaning “uptown” (or “North” or something like that)... it’s not always used in his address (just like mine, we don’t always include the “E” for East)... so most of the other documents don’t have this part in his address.

should I add an explanation letter for this when filing I-130?

My wife had something similar. On her I-130 I listed the address that was on her ID card in the main sections. I listed the longer/complete address in the Additional Information section with a note. We didn't have any problems.

We filed overseas and by mail. Had to include two passport photos of both beneficiary and petitioner. At least here in Finland many passport picture places have an option to do ones with US requirements. Cost under 20 bucks. I personally find it way easier than to try to do it ourselves.

Just to be clear, you SENT what you sent, but when the foreign spouse is NOT currently in the US, there is no need for a passport photo at the petition stage.  Petitioner yes.  Beneficiary no.

This thread is about how the online filing works.  If it won't let you file without a photo of each, then that's a glitch in the program, people will just have to deal with.  There are several such apparent glitches.
