Hey Guys,

We got an RFE :(

The marriage certificate is not good. I don't understand because it is the official marriage certificate from the City Hall in France with proper translation (from a US professional translation company).

Anyway.

Alix

I'm sorry to hear this. Are you able to contact the NVC to see what the specific problem with your marriage certificate was? Or do the phone representatives not have access to the reason for the certificate's rejection? For your sake, I hope there was only an error on their part and it can be corrected by talking to a manager. Good luck with it.

That's so sad. When did you upload your documents?

Hope you can fix that by calling or something

Thanks. That is also the advantage of VisaJourney, you know these things happen a lot.

I should know more on Monday.

(the marriage certificate is such a simple document that it must be a mistake, I really don't know what other document I could send to replace it)

Take care

Is the issuing authority on the one you submitted the "Office of the Mayor?"
I submitted the wrong birth certificate and police check. Didn't even know there were different versions of a birth certificate and I missed the "country-specific" instructions page. :( I didn't know about visa journey before, so made a couple unfortunate mistakes.

Assuming you've seen this, but just in case you haven't:

Good luck!!

I am so so sorry Alix. I´ve been rooting for you from afar.

There must be a specific marriage certificate they require. I can´t see it being he translation portion bc some people even say the translation isn´t mandatory, if it´s the same language as the consulate where you´ll have the interview...

I hope this is something you can resolve quickly - maybe even request a new certificate online?

Keep us updated on your progress. We´re cheering you on! This too will be a small bump in your future. Be strong!

Still waiting second submission 2/24 I’m assuming I’ll hear something by the end of this month if things don’t get delayed more (which they might with less staff) my main worry now is that it seems Nicaragua’s president is the ONLY one not taking measures to prepare for covid19  they’re actually belittling it and still planning their spring break events this week. I’m scared for my husband I know he’s not older but if he happens to get it there is not proper care for this in Nicaragua. And they’re even denying test results and even denying how many cases there are.  Not sure what to do don’t even think anything can be done just venting I guess

We are the same time frame :) I submitted my second submission on Feb 24.

Totally okay to vent, I understand your worries with the visa and Covid-19. We are here and rooting for you and your husband!

So, after a first submission in December, and a second submission on the 28th of January, I can finally say we got DQ!!

Such a damn relief to say that! 😅 So to everyone waiting, just be patient and your time will be coming soon! We've chosen a long and struggle filled road going through this process but the end result will make it all worth it! ;)

congratulations! I love seeing some good news in these strange times!

Congratulations Jamie Solo ! That's great !

Thank you all for your messages and sweet interest on my last update.

Guess what ? About our RFE, it is our lawyer's fault (the one i wanted to get rid of around Christmas but we finally decided to go along with him). He uploaded the translation of our Marriage Certificate, not the original marriage certificate. 😤😤😤

We are, as you can imagine, super pissed with him. To get an RFE for something so basic and easy!!! Well, that's us!

Back at the bottom of the pile. :(

The virus makes already everything hard to plan but now with an extra 2 months delay... jeeeeze. And not sure when I will see my husband next.

I will stop complaining now.

Have a great week-end you all.

Alix
