So I tried to change my embassy a few days ago, and was told that just a picture of my bio page of my passport was not enough evidence to proof that I am a citizen of the Netherlands.. How confusing. So I just sent them another e-mail with my passport page (again), birth certificate, driver's license, and official government documentation of when I came back from Dubai.. *sigh* I hope its sufficient now.

Did you not send them the birth certificate, driver's license, and official documentation before? My wife in Japan only uploaded her passport page and birth certificate as proof of citizenship (she uploaded other documents, however, like police reports and our marriage certificate). I wonder if we'll receive a request for more documentation too. I'm sorry to hear about your situation. Good luck!

Hello, I have a question regarding the I-864. On Part 5, Question 7 it asks for my "current individual annual income". Is this my current salary from my employer, or my total income from 2019 tax returns? Although I meet the income requirement based on 2019 taxes (using w2 AND 1099), my current salary is higher now, as I started a new job in Sept. 2019. Thanks!

I don't have the definite answer, but here's what I did:

Current individual income: total from 1040 for 2019. Under Additional docs I uploaded supporting W2 and 1099 (not the 1040, since no filing is required yet and in fact I didn't file yet)

I uploaded the 2018 transcript under required financials, and also added W2 and 1099 for that year under additional

I hope this helps! If you decide to use your CURRENT (higher) annual income, you would probably have to submit paystubs as proof under additional documentation.

This might be a really dumb and obvious question but I just want to make sure. Does anyone know if the tax transcripts you obtain from the IRS online are the same ones you receive if you requested them through the mail?

Yes, yes, yes! Even better because you can download them to save to your computer and then upload to CEAC painlessly & fast! Try it & you won't regret it!🥳

Just an update, feeling a bit discouraged- I still haven't heard back. I even called back that same day and it was confirmed by two people the email had been sent for action to be taken to correct their mistake, and I also spoke with a supervisor. It's only been a week, but the supervisor said, while it could be up to 6 weeks for them to correct, he said I could get a reply that day or the next day or within the next week. I would just like to have this part of the process off the table. I hope we hear back from them soon.

Since they are clearly in the wrong, doesn't this situation qualify you for an expedited processing in this case? Look into this possibility because that may turn out to be in your favor! All the best!

Great point! @Jmeleecur I just read this post the other day and it clearly states NVC mistake as a reason. It's only an opinion of course, since there are no official guides, but worth a try to email them :) http://www.lovevisalife.com/2017/09/nvc-expedite-request-us-spouse-visa/

Hi, its not included in the application, it goes through public inquiry. So its someone that doesn’t process IV application (I presume)

That is your Expected making income . Just ask your employer for current salary (before tax)

NVC do that to estimate once you guys filing together , having childrens... blah blah blah . That you are way ahead of being able to support your spouse.
on additional evidence rule of thumb is better to have more than not enough.
Pay stub, current employment letter , w-2 and 1099.

the only downside of sending in more stuff is if you some how make a mistake like scanning your pay stub , w2 in and have half a page missing . Checklist is probably coming NVC love doing that.

Yes it is  your current individual annual income from your current employer. Not your total income from 2019 tax returns.

Yes they are since you obtain them from IRS.

Hey everyone!

I’ve a question. My case is already in process at NVC. Is NVC gonna send me back to the end of line if I upload an optional document now or what?

Yes, that's what most people have been reporting. However we saw some DQs lately where people uploaded additional documents up to 3 weeks after and still (based on NVC review timeline) where reviewed based on initial submission date

Hi everyone !

I just got an e-mail from NVC telling me the status of my immigrant visa application was updated on the CEAC website.

So I checked and saw that all my docs (IV application + civil docs + AOS docs) were accepted !

I also noticed that they sent me a note in my "Messages" saying that I need to submit every form W-2/1099 from my already submitted joint sponsor's tax transcript.

Does that mean I need to submit them on the website (and maybe have to wait for another two months) or that I need to bring them to my interview at the embassy ?

Thank you in advance for your help !

You will need to upload them on the site and wait for them to review and send you a message that you are DQed. It's like an RFE.
