I have been waiting for 2 weeks for my social security number so I decided to call the office today. They couldnt find me on their system and ask me to complete a SS5 form and send along my passport. Does anyone had to post their passport to their local SSA office?

We've been waiting for over 3 weeks now.  My husband arrived on March 21.  Nothing comes up on the SAVE Case Check website.  At this point, I think it's fruitless to call SSA.  They're all backlogged.  I'm going to wait another 2 weeks before making calls.

I wouldn't let go off my passport right now.  If you mail it in, who will receive it?  All SSA offices are closed.  It seems too risky.  I would wait until the offices reopen and apply in person if you haven't received your SSN in the meantime.

Our ROC story so far...
1/3/2022: I-751 sent via USPS Priority Mail; delivered to Phoenix Lockbox 1/5
1/6/2022: CC processed for filing and biometric fees
1/7/2022: Received receipt # via text
1/15/2022:  Received NOA and 24-month extension letter
1/22/2022:  Received biometrics appointment letter
2/8/2022:  Biometrics appointment
10/2/2023:  SURPRISE!  We received the I-751 approval letter and 10-year green card without an interview.

Does anyone know if there is a case complete, waiting for visa interview in Juarez forum that I can follow? Our cc date was 8/29/19 so I assume the interview would be in August-September if they reopen by then.

Glad you were able to fly out before things shut down. What's it like on the ground? I guess getting a job is but a distant dream at this stage.

Yeah I didnt want to risk not being able to fly and my visa running out. It’s really difficult and challenging, most companies  like I would have imagined have freeze their recruitment. So looking for work it’s really hard, I guess we will have to wait until everything is back to normal.

The SSa office in my state is open, they just practicing social distancing so no appointment.

Well even before this pandemic Montreal is a 5 month wait after DQ. So who knows what it will be after they get back to scheduling.

Hello Everyone,

My husband (USc) and I got DQed on April 6th.

The same day, part of the list of my civil documents on CEAC webside became kind of a mess:

- 3 documents (passport biographic page, photos, police certificate) that had been accepted are now under the status "missing" 😲

- and 2 others have a tittle that doesn't match the document anymore (not sure if I'm clear) 🥶 Super weird.

Our lawyer (for those who have followed me, you know I am not a big fan of him) told us that as long as we got the email saying that we are DQ, we are fine and he doesn't want to hear about what the website is saying.

Also, on the website, the message from CEAC is clearly saying "DQ".

Has anyone ever experienced that problem?

Thank you,

Alix

Wondering the same thing Alix. Our original translations are here with me in the US. I am not very inclined to mail them & have the docs get misplaced in the mail....

If you find anything out let me know please & I'll do the same.

Hey :)

Maybe (maybe!) :

- all the petitionner's documents can be copies,

- and the applicant's documents must be originals.

That would be super logical (at least it is to me lol)

First one to know more lets know the other 🧐

Take care,

Alix
