COVID19: Why we should all wear masks

One thing to learn going forward is that it's probably a good idea to pick up a box of masks at the beginning of respiratory season to keep on hand. It has been next to impossible to find masks since this began. It's almost a moot point now, but I'm sure the main reason they didn't recommend them is because we were already extremely short by the time the virus was circulating here.

They already know with many respiratory viruses that severity of symptoms can correlate with the initial infection dose at the time of exposure. Given everything we are already doing, and how much this is all going to cost in dollars and in lives, even if masks only reduced exposure by 25-50%, seems like that would be worth it.

Or, you know, just do social distancing and wash your hands instead of worrying bout whether you need a mask or not.  If you don't go outside into crowded places during the lockdown, you don't even need to worry about what you should wear to protect yourself.  Experts today including Dr. Fauci are already saying social distancing is working really well, so we should continue what's already working for us, and not worry so much about something that has no supportive research.  Social distancing has been proven to work.
