Hi all. I recently got married in January and we just submitted our paperwork for the I-130 and I-485. My husband is from South Africa, and has been in the states 2 years on a J1 visa. I just realized that after February 24, there was a new form added to the process...I-944 (i think). This was left out of the packet. Will it get automatically denied? Should I send it in, or wait to see if we get a RFE?

There is not much you can do without having a case number so it would be useless to send the form now since there is almost no chance that it can be connected to your application.

Guess you'll have to wait. If they accept it and you get a case number you can try and send the form in to avoid a RFIE or a denial. Also check if you sent the updated I-864. That also changed on February 24th.

Thank you! I was able to stop the package because we just mailed it out yesterday. It will be sent back to me so we can add the form in.

Hopefully I’m in the right forum. Me and my husband sent in our form I-131 and I-485 around the the start of the month. He arrived here on a J1 visa, we met and were married in January. I do know that we submitted our application right after the new process started, and i left out the new form. I’m sure they will reject it and send it back. How long does it usually take for them to send it back? It has been 3 weeks since they have received everything.
