NVC timeline on IR-1/CR1 visas

i can't get my head around this whole process... I still don't know the acronyms and form numbers and what they actually mean in the whole thing but I'm pretty sure we belong to this group.

we sent the i-130 back in november 06, they got it a week later, I have a notice of action with a WAC number (is that NOA2? - I don't even know...) we sent off the affidavit of support form with the DS230s early July, 07 then they sent us that we are missing some info (which we didn't - they just didn't bother to read the letter we attached about how my wife wasn't living and working in the US in 2006 therefore has no tax return for that year).

right now we are waiting on the NVC to let us know the embassy has all our stuff... not sure how long will it still be, but I'm starting to get edgy... my wife is returning to the states in October, and I would love to join her. I hope the interview will be before that.

can we know from this table which consulate or office we are dealing with? anyone else London bound?

You can't really know from this table which office everyone is dealing with. You could probably get a good idea by posting in the UK forum. Just scroll down the main forums page until you see "Regional Forums" then click on United Kingdom.

Yes you sound pretty confused for being this far into the process... well, my suggestion is, to have somebody from the US call NVC and talk to an operator to ask for the situation. Otherwise if you don't have anybody that can call for you there send them an e-mail, they will answer within 15 days.

Have you paid the fees?

The process is:

- NVC sends you choice of agent that you have to mail back

- NVC sends the petitioner the AOS Fee

- Once NVC receives the choice of agent sends out the IV bill

-once NVC receives the AOS fee sends to the agent the I-864 package

- once IV bill paid, NVC sends DS-230 package.

After all these steps the case is complete and they send the file to the embassy. I would contact them and see where you stand...

wow it has been way too long!! just came to VJ to say that our IV bill was generated August 6th and I sent it in along with the I-864 stuff last week :) oh how I wish this process could speed up...but inshAllah all will be well and everything will work out for the best :D take care everyone :)

Furhtermore please tell me if your payment too is stuck at NVC for a long time without being processed, since that's been the faith with many others who've paid the payment around the samme time you have.)

Stabu, you can call the NVC and ask them what the status is and how far from being complete the case is. they'll give you the generic 2-6 week answer, but might also state "it should be done soon though but alow 2-6 weeks". I called the 27th and the customer service person stated that it was going be completed soon.

03-02-2007 Two I-130 petitions (for spouse and stepchild) sent to the TSC

04-12-2007 Received both NOA1 by mail from the CSC

04-14-2007 Touched (both)

07-03-2007 Touched (both)

07-04-2007 APPROVED! NOA 2 ( both)-- 83 days from NOA 1 to NOA 2.

NVC:

07-16-2007 Assigned NVC case numbers,generated DS 3032,AOS bills generated ( both)

07-19-2007 DS 3032 ( choice of agent) sent by email (both)

07-20-2007 AOS bills sent (both)

08-02-2007 DS 3032 accepted ( response via email) for spouse

08-13-2007 IV bill generated ( for spouse )

08-16-2007 DS 3032 accepted via email for stepchild(NVC screwed up the USC SSC number)

hey stabu!

well i just called NVC and they said they received the IV payment on August 28th, 2007...i dunno if that means they processed it or what...can you shed some light on this?? I mean before it stated that the IV bill was generated August 6th, 2007...and 3 weeks later it was updated...???

It is sad to hear that there are others who are stuck at this stage and I wonder if I am the same way...hoping for a speedy process for everyone!! :D take care

oh...what is the next step...i realize it is the DS-230...but how long does that take...i mean we got the I-864 and everything and sent it in about a week and a half ago...so I am only wondering now...thanks :)
