I was so dissapointed today, when we called the NVC and found out that they hadn't generated our DS-230 yet :(. I was so much hoping that today would be the day when I could update myself. Oh well... maybe next week then :(.

I called the NVC today because our automated message now says that they're missing some documents, which I'll take to mean that our AoS is a-okay (which is something to celebrate). However, when I talked to the lady she said that no, our DS-230 had not been generated yet. Furthermore, our IV Bill payment hadn't been processed yet. I told her I sent it in in the beginning of August and how long is it supposed to take? She said, 10-15 days. So they should have processed it by the end of this week...but it makes me feel very worried that it's taking them so long. Afterall, I don't usually find $380 lying on the street.

Can anyone here tell me how long it took their IV Bill to be accepted, if they know?

Can anyone here tell me how long it took their IV Bill to be accepted, if they know?

According to my records I had sent off the money order overnight on July 23 (Monday). It actually arrived at NVC only on July 25 (Wednesday) because the post office decided to send it on a detour via Omaha, NE. The NVC phone operator acknowledged receipt on July 27 (Friday). On July 30 (the following Monday), the company that issued the money order said that it had been presented for payment on that day. On August 1, the automated message at NVC said they had received the IV payment on July 30 and that they would send me the DS-230 package (which prompted me to immediately send them the DS-230 materials following James's shortcuts).

So, the short answer would be: in my case, it took them less than a week to process the payment.

By the way, if you sent your payment by money order, then depending which company issued the money order, you may be able to track whether it has been paid yet. Look for an 800 number on the receipt stub or go to the company's website.

I too called them yesterday to see if they had received my I-864 and IV fee bill (which arrived there on the 8th - I mailed it on the 2nd - so they have had it for a week).

Our automated message still says something about the fact that they sent out the I-864 or whatever back in July. Anyway the operator said they have received our I-864 however they haven't received our IV fee bill yet. She told me the same thing about the 10-15 days to process the payment.

Not really helpful to you, except our dates for sending them back are quite close (I don't know if you sent yours overnight). :)

Okay thanks, I might try that...It seems like the farther along I am with this whole stinking process the less patient I am.
