No, I won't.  Because I know it's a waste of time, unless I get sick and wish to limit the spread of my illness.  Even then, I likely won't wear one because I just won't go out in public until I am better.

Well bad news - here’s what’s coming and it’s long overdue, we’ve left the house once in two weeks (groceries) and did not wear masks or cover our faces but we will by god not do that again.

Nah it’s coming I think.  Iceland* probably pulled the best community dataset that demonstrated the percentage of asymptomatic carriers who are out in the community inadvertently spreading COV

For the confused here UK report:   Lists confusion as possible symptom of infection!  Mask up.
 

With that said SARS was found to break down completely at 150 F / 90 minutes.  (2003 data magically rediscovered) I highly doubt this bug is much hardier and P100’s are efficiency tested at 122 F.  150 won’t damage the cartridges at all.  
 

I realize N95’s are cheap junk in comparison but that’s for the “PPE experts” here LOL - we don’t allow them P-100 is the lowest efficiency allowed in our puddle.

     Most hospitals would use their own UV sterilizers and autoclaves. This would be a good alternative for anyone who doesn't have those facilities.

Saying that people shouldn't have masks if they [insert criteria here] is mostly meaningless, I would say, except in the context of supply. I think the bigger problem I have with it is the oversimplification, and I think its one done as damage control to bad/dangerous advice propagated by the media.

 

Clearly those who need the supply the most are those around illness, and that would be nurses, doctors, etc.

 

But anyone that can get their hands on masks, would be better off. That they might gain confidence and engage in behaviors conducive to the spread isn't a "tied" behavior, its mutually exclusive, people behave in this fashion anyways, it's abundantly clear.

 

Even though I technically should be in isolation because my wife is (she's the one told to self isolate, its only recommended that I do), I still needed to go out (we needed certain perishables in the dairy/produce/meat sections), so I went to the store this morning (I've noticed the elderly especially love shopping at this time in the early morning at the normal grocery stores), gloves et al, sanitized, staying away from people, not coughing, not touching my face, avoiding conversation, the works. And despite people taking better care, they were still unconsciously doing things to facilitate the spread of the virus.. one example.. I witnessed elderly ladies without gloves on wiping their noses with their hands then touching things around them. I bet you if she was forced to wear a mask and gloves it would be enough time to recognize bad behaviors and correct them without facilitating the spread.

 

So the logical thing to do isn't to try and prevent people from wearing masks, it's to make sure they're using them in ways conducive to the reason they're being used. The idea that its simply better if people don't wear masks if they don't engage in the most perfect behavior is itself dangerous and conducive to spread of the virus.

Being that maximum spread is most profitable to the industry that also issues the guidelines I am wondering now who benefits here most from ignoring data from and experience of other (much more densely packed) countries and choosing to continue spreading nonsense.
