helloo all...

actually my wife just recieved her packet 4 this friday :)..I was just looking over the AOS docs and the process. I remember reading on this AOS forums that someone mentioned that if you enter thru JFK airport, they give you EAD right there..?? is this completely true..?? I live in chicago but my parents stay in new jersey area.... if my wife does get her EAD at JFK, then do we have to file the AOS forms , from that area..??

if this is correct then, I guess I would save some money on EAD as compared to sending it along with I-485?

can somebody shed some lights here..??? My main goal is to get her EAD as soon as possible so that she can apply for social sec and can obtain a driver's license

please give me any info :)

thanks everyone for help :) :) :)

JFK May give a temp EAD stamp good for 90 days and only on the K-1 visa because the K-1 is considered to be work authorized by DHS, K-3 holders wont get the stamp there or anywhere.

K-3 is recommended to apply for EAD before applying for AOS, the EAD issued before AOS has it's expiration date tied to that of the I-94 card, so K-1 is 90 days from entry, but a K-3 can be up to 2 years from entry.

AOS is filed using where you live as your address.

Quickest way to get EAD on a K-3 is to apply for it as soon as you get home and wait up to 90 days to get it.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

soni,

It is completely true for K1s, because K1s are EA incident to their status. Thus they qualify for an EAD.

K3s are not EA incident to status so they are not going to get an EAD (at JFK or anywhere else). K3s have to apply for EA, and when their application is approved they will be sent an EAD.
