Why are you looking at immigrant visa emergency criteria if you are in the US?

What are you trying to expedite?

I assuming he is the sponsor for his wife?

Expediting his wife's IV because someone's nanny quit.

3 2 million new unemployment claims just last week.  Ought to be able to find a qualified nanny out of that population

Excellent point!  Might even do as well as an out of work school teacher.  Every single school in my state is closed indefinitely.

I get that. And I understand the difficulties.

That said, the vast majority of spousal cases probably fall into that set of circumstances right now. Most people (immigrant or not) with living parents still are having to watch for them and run errands....while still working, taking care of kids (if any), etc. It's an unusual and hard time right now.

AP can apply to anyone. Background checks? Missing document? Need to verify documents? There's a whole bunch of possible reasons.

I hope not. But I know, we had everything completed. Hoping nothing is missed. Medical was done too

This doesn't  make any sense.  First of all no, one is looking for Nanny help. Secondly, we can't interview 3.2M ppl. Third, 3.2M is all across US, not in our home state. The members is family are working in frontline treating Covid-19 patients. one of the parents were required to stay home last week for 4 days because of their patient test +, so they told that doctor and whoever had contact with that patient to stay home and wait for their results. Luckily, it was negative. :- )  Even if we do interview 3.2M ppl for Nanny, no one willing to put themselves  at this risk. everyone is backing out.

The members of the family work 12 hrs shift at the hospital, then go to their own home which is empty. change clothes, get cleaned up, then goto parent house, see their kids & kids grandparents. and again next day to work.  (same story). From what I am hearing, this isn't going away until few months.

I'm trying to understand what is considered emergency to the embassy, if anyone had experience.  I know for expedite, hardship was one. But don't know, if expedite is same as emergency.

You are asking to expedite a family based vise on the basis that she will undertake a job nobody else would do.

Nonsense.  Everyone gets it.  This is clearly affecting the entire country and world in ways never before seen in our lifetimes.

It does not change the criteria for expediting visas.  If anything, it creates a slowdown due to reduction in forces.
