Process to extend CR1 visa?

Cr1 visa expires it 3 weeks but all flights are suspended because of covid19. What is the process to extend cr1 visa and how long will it take it again ? I know medical would be required again but is there gonna be another interview or waiting in administrative processing again?

You have 3 weeks still, I would be checking every day for a way to get a flight to the US. If you have 3 weeks, maybe get to a authorized country with flights to the US, do your 14 days there, then fly to the US. Not sure where you are at right now.

Islamabad, Pakistan. All international flights cancelled from Pakistan.

International flights will operate only out of Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad airports.” 

 

Looks like you can get out of another airport maybe. I was able to get a flight out of Karachi still.

This came across my news feed 10 hours ago.....

 

According to a notification by the Prime Minister's Office, the government has allowed resumption of international flight operations at Karachi, Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, Quetta and Peshawar airports from April 5.

 

One way trip from Karachi to Washington DC was like 556 US dollars( April 7th), not sure where you need to get to the US, but I would try to get here.

There was another news later on that said flights wont be allowed even after april 5th.

Sounds like they can't make up their mind just now, so you have til the 17th or 18th of April, I think the possibility of snagging a flight before your Visa expires is possible. I wish you the best of luck, but I would keep trying up until the visa expires, then cross the new visa bridge when you are sure you can't make it.

This was Quatar airways via KLM, a real messed up route, but I randomly chose DC as the destination, where do you need to get to? I tried to paste it, and it is messed up, but you get the idea, where do you need to fly to?

I've been stuck in a lot of countries and had to really think outside the box to get out. I've taken planes, trains, hitchhiked, etc. Maybe get into a neighboring country to fly out. I have never been stuck in Pakistan, so I can't say I know how to help. One time some militant force over thru the airport I was trying to leave out of by blocking the runway, so I had to bus it like 12 hours ( You don't even want the details of that bus ride) to get home. I honestly think you should be OK. I understand your worries, but I have always lived by the " Never give up" principal.

did you have any luck? i can't get out of Australia at the moment, with a visa expiry (CR-1) in 6 weeks.  I will still try, but am interested in what the re-issance process involves as the embassy themselves didn't really seem to know
