Question about I-485 being hindered by a current U-VISA application?

OK so our situation.

My wife was a victim of domestic violence back in 2015.

She submitted a U-Visa application in 2015.

We got married in 2017, and submitted our I-485 for her adjustment of status. We went on our interview, got approved based upon updated medical, and then everything just kind of came to a screeching halt.

The latest in our saga is that our congressman is involved and our file was sent to the National Benefits Center back in December 2019.

We got an email from our liaison that our green card application is facing adjucation delays and they can't tell us what it is.

Today we called USCIS and they also said they couldn't give us information and to write to the VAWA unit.

So starting to piece together everything I believe the U-Visa application is holding everything up.

We wrote to the NBC to get more info. and clarity.

I believe we should write to VAWA and have the U-Visa application removed.

We are happily married and just want this to end. I find it so hard to comprehend that these offices don't talk to one another.

Has anyone ever been in this situation that could be of any help?

We are at our wits end!

Ok thanks!
