Hi everyone! But how can we distinguish between the "Ready" for the electronic file and the "Ready" for the physical one? Mine says ready since Sept 22nd and underneath my case number says last update Sept 24th, when my case turned from At NVC to in transit I used the DHL hack and when it said delivered my status turned to Ready, so I could assume it is already at the embassy

This is just my guess but I don't think there is a way to distinguish a ready between both. In your situation, your case switched to ready after the file said it was delivered through DHL which means everything of yours is at the embassy. In my situation, it went from in transit to ready in 1 day but the tracking via DHL still shows its on its way. And from the explanation provided above, there are two "ready" implications would make sense in. So i think the only way to tell would be to see where the package is via DHL

It's one of the mysteries of the transit process. If you don't start with knowing the current date before shipping and then the date for in transit and a new date change for the first ready and then the date change for the second ready you wouldn't know. Confusing I know.

How did you get the tracking? I got DHL today and was told they cannot track it just with the zip code

You don't call DHL you use the instructions in the PDF using different parameters as explained. I wrote the PDF so that you didn't have to ask the same questions that others before you have asked knowing that others will ask the same question. I have a OneNote file that has over 300 entries for things people ask all the time. Good luck and stay engaged.

This is what your file says right Greenbaum? I'm following your instructions but I was unable to get the tracking number this way so I'm asking somebody who's been able to so maybe I can try that way, there's always a good manner to answer a question FYI

I don't even remember if I joined the April or March thread originally. Maybe we just need a general thread for people stuck at the embassy level at this point? It's kind of weird to separate people by month if we're all stuck at the same stage anyway.

So, why change something that has been working for many years just because there is a temporary change in the circumstances, we find ourselves in currently? There was a time that we had to have a Part 1 and Part 2 of the monthly threads because there were so many people applying, commenting, and participating with questions about their visa process. Now it's turned into a complaint session. With many opine how unfair Trump is, their embassy, USCIS and NVC.

You were approved in February and so that is the monthly thread that you would be in but, you can choose whichever monthly thread you want to belong to. Some opine in different threads.

You asked, "how did you get the tracking?" and I answered your question. My answers are straight and to the point. I don't sugar coat my answers. :girlwerewolf2xn:Oy Vey! With everything in the process, and I occasionally opine that "your mileage may vary" and this is the case with determining the DHL hack. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Have you tried the other method where you enter the information on your own from their website? Any results? We do find that it can work and sometimes we find it doesn't work. By the time you try and figure it out your packet will be at the embassy and then CEAC.state.gov will have your status. This is just an exercise that we have found to work most of the time and other times not. It's just another exercise to keep you connected and engaged in the process. You can choose to use it, or you can ignore. Your choice.

A temporary change that had put hundreds of us in a situation in which we haven't seen our partners for months. Having a central thread for everyone who's in the same horrible situation would help. If the whole point of these threads is to track progress and answer questions about what to do next at whatever stage we're in, a central thread would help too, since there would be more people able to answer questions about their recent experience.

Many of us haven't seen our partners for almost a year, some even more than that. That's a weird way to talk about your forum members who are genuinely hurting from what's happening to them.

I mean, it's cool that you personally don't have to go through the mess that we're all currently stuck in, but if you're going to hang around and try to help people a little empathy wouldn't be too much to ask for.

Bam! Here you go. There is an exceptionally large discussion on this topic. You would be better served if you were to visit the link below to determine how it will affect your immigration journey.

I'm sorry you have such thin skin. There are many who are facing much more difficult challenges then you. I have seen many who have been in this process for 1, 2, and three years and they don't complain as much as you.

We are in a pandemic and the governmental offices and the embassies are running with a skeleton and in some cases are completely closed. Nothing is going to happen until this virus dissipates. There will be action announced closer to the opening of the embassies on how they will address those who had interviews scheduled and those who want to schedule an interview. Also, if you have a NOA2 about to expire there is no reason to panic or be concerned. That too will be addressed by the embassies once they are closer to opening. We are in a wait and see mode till the embassies start opening again.

There is a conversation here on this topic: https://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/737060-coronavirus-embassy-reopening/page/3/?tab=comments#comment-10146929

Also, there is an article that has the DOS phase opening schedule for DOS affiliates to include embassies:

https://www.axios.com/pompeo-coronavirus-state-department-reopening-ec5dc86d-6393-4614-b05f-68d3b5f6ec10.html

BTW, this is my opinion and that is the embassies will begin to open with those that are in a less affected areas then move on to those in highly affected areas. I believe that the embassies will reschedule those that were cancelled and then open the schedule for those who are ready to receive an interview date. Best place to be tuned in to what will happen at the embassy level is to be on their webpage because that is where the announcement and further instructions will be posted.

When we were lifting conditions on my wife's GC there are two offices that adjudicate the request. The country is pretty much split in half. Those on the west side of the Mississippi used the California Service Center and those East, which we were, used Vermont. CSC was taking 6 months to complete the process where it took us 14 months with Vermont. Sure, that's not fair but what can you do? Nothing. I wasn't on VJ complaining and crying about how unfair it was. I didn't request to have something change here on VJ because a lot of us were in the same boat. Get over it. It is what it is. Deal with it is the best recommendation I can make. You can take my recommendation, or you can ignore it. Instead of moaning about the process why not contribute where you can. Learn what you next steps are. Get out of your little world here on VJ and look around. There are many different conversations that you can join and vent your anger but a thread like this is to help navigate the process from NOA2 to your embassy. I have been here for more than 6 years helping people like you to get through this in a much smoother way. If you don't want my help, then ignore me. Block me if that will make you happy. But I am going to stick around and help people who are in need. Good luck and stay engaged.

Yeah. Cool. We also don't have to deal with the horrible mess that's the currently asylum process. That doesn't mean that things aren't bad for people who have lesser problems either. Heck, some of us aren't in a war torn country either.

Again, missing the whole empathy thing. And others "aren't complaining as much" because any complaints get shot down because "others have it worse". I'm just more persistent when it comes to complaining out loud than most.

"Get over it" is a weird thing to say to people who are in genuine pain. This isn't a pain contest so the whole "my pain was worse" thing is, again, a really weird thing to say to people. Dismissing genuine pain is a horrible thing to do, especially when you claim to have gone through it yourself. There's no contributing. There are no next steps for a lot of us. All we have now is the wait.

We can't even get to the next step because it's pointless to get the paperwork in order when police certificates expire in 6 months and filling out the i134 if we're stuck in limbo for another 4 years and need to use up-to-date tax returns.

Good morning everyone,

Case status is now READY and was last updated on 10/14/2020. We have not gotten an emails or mails from the NVC or the US embassy in Turkey at this time. The last email we received from the NVC was on 10/02/2020 stating the petition is approved and the case will be forwarded to the US embassy in Turkey. Do we just wait at this point for the embassy to email us the instructions? Also, since we applied for a K1 visa, do we have to pay any fees for the NVC? I read online about a number called invoice ID number so I am not really sure if this pertains to us as we have not gotten one from NVC. Thank you very much.

"Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S. Consular section. If you have already scheduled an appointment for an interview, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have been notified of your interview appointment."

@Greenbaum, You have been of a great help here so I appreciate your answer on this. Thank you,

@Greenbaum, you have been of a great help here so I appreciate your answer on this. Thank you,

The first thing you should do is get the PDF file on the first page first post which I have authored all the different items that you will need at this stage. It includes phone numbers, instructions, and email addresses for the different government agencies. There you will find not only the instructions for call but also the phone number to use to connect with NVC to get your case number.

Next you will want to call NVC and get your case number and invoice number. With that you can complete your DS-160, Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application and then pay your interview fee. You pay nothing to NVC. CR-1/IR-1 visas are required to pay NVC but not K1's.

Then we need a little housekeeping on your end. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Country and Visa Type: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1RyJiLo_7WTmqvkzXXqLuOlVHm9oyhAES/view?usp=sharing

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open for you.

And, lastly for now is to read the links I'll provide below for additional instructions to include the P3 and what needs to be done next. You are now in control on how fast things start to fall in place for your interview. So, if you want this done soon, then jump on the information and "getr" done.
