My fiance and I were approved on April 1 as well. We are still awaiting our case number from the NVC, I was calling on a daily basis the first couple of weeks and kept being told they "haven't received/could take up to 6 weeks" every time. It's Sunday now but I will call again tomorrow, we're getting close to the 6 week mark, and some have seemed to get their case number in under 3 weeks so we're anxious! Could you please let me know if you get your number? Thank you!

Same thing here, we were approved by April 1st and I called last Thursday they said it hasn't arrived, I'm anxious too cause I've heard it could get lost while it's being sent to NVC but I see we're not the only ones with this answer so it relaxes me a little bit

The PDF file on the first page first post says that it takes 30 days to NVC from USCIS and another 1-2 weeks for a case number to be issued by the NVC. You're both to early.

This thread was created for those who are waiting for their NOA2 K-1 case assignment from NVC and then tracking your case onwards to your Embassy. Contained in the PDF below are many tips, tricks, and hacks to help you along the way.

These are items that everyone asks for, so I thought I did post a PDF of them here for you to refer to when it's necessary. If you are new to this thread, please read as these are the most asked questions multiple times.

Hello. I have downloaded the PDF which is really helpful. Thank You. I have also read through the P3 for Nigeria. However I wanted to confirm, (my anxiety lol) I recently received my case number at NVC and checking my case, it says, "at NVC."

So can we still go ahead and submit the DS-160 now and pay the fee at GT bank even if still at NVC? I understand we won't be able to schedule any interviews until things open back up, but we just wanted to be ready when things do.

Thank you for all you do!

If the appointment is past your NOA2 expiration date you must bring a letter requesting an extension from the petitioner on the day of the interview + updated letter of intent to marry from both of you.

If you find anything not up to date or the information is wrong, please share your findings. Please compare the date of the P3 of mine with the date from your copy once you receive yours from your embassy. Keep in mind that I try and be factual with my information, but I can't do it on my own and that's where you come in and can give back to the community those who come behind you. Without others ahead of you I would not be able to provide this to you.  I can only share factual information if folks like you continue to be my eyes and ears for your embassy. I wish you much success in your visa journey.

Thanks! This is super helpful

As an update, I emailed on Thursday and got a reply on Saturday morning with my case number! 🥳 I did the little backwards math to find out the assignment date (thank you for that) and it was 4/24. Really hoping we go out in the 5/12 shipment. Is that a realistic timeframe ?

Im getting the feeling (based on my Amazon shipments lol) that international mail is being quarantined for 14 days when it travels. Any idea if that’s happening with these case packages too?

Yes, I’ll update it on my timeline! It’s weird. It seems most of the people that have yet to receive their case number were the ones approved on April 1.

Thank you for all you do!

You can complete and submit your DS-160, Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application and pay the interview fee now so you can check on the scheduling BUT keep in mind that fee you will pay is good for one year based on the NOA2 date which is also has a one year of validity. Nigeria is one of the embassies that has been known to take longer than most other embassies. If it were me, I would wait till you hear something more from your embassy and the best place for that is to be on their website. Good luck and stay engaged.

Q1 No one can say with any certainty when they will resume shipping cases to the embassies. I would hope soon but I think toward the end of the month.

Q2 I don't think they will go into any type of quarantine, but I suppose they would "dust" them off once they arrive at the embassy to keep the staff safe.

Woo hoo! We have a case number! We were approved April 1, and I called the NVC almost daily for the first couple weeks. I work in 9-1-1 healthcare here in the States so I've been a little busy/overwhelmed/stressed with work these days and haven't been keeping up with calling for well over a week now. But finally today I was able to call and wait on hold for an hour and to my great relief the wonderful woman at the NVC had a case and invoice number for me!! She told me that they WILL be shipping our packet and WILL be sending our case to the Embassy in Santiago, Chile, but that the Embassy is not doing interviews at the moment. I asked if she knows if they are on schedule for their "ship out" dates and she wan't able to give me a for sure date/answer. But they are still sending cases out to embassies which is such a relief to hear. I need to go back to the PDF from this thread and follow the instructions now that I have our number. But just wanted to post for everyone who is still waiting because we all need hope and answers from all the day to day craziness we're tackling lately 🙂🙃

@Greenbaum First, thank you as always for all your help and instructions! I'm going back to your PDF now, and wanted to ask if you have the P3 for Chile? Thanks again!

I have this information but not the P3. If and when you get a copy if you could share it with me it would be used to help others. Also, some of these links may not work so if you find the work around please let me know so I can update my information.

Unfortunately I don't have a true Packet 3 letter so if and when you get a copy can you PM me with it? Thanks.

This line is a little old from 2017 and should be used with caution.

https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-cl/iv This is the Embassy's website with all the information for Chile. You'll need to do a little exploring to find your answers.

Also I have this https://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/iv-dv-supplemental/SNT-Santiago.pdf

You should be over in the sub-forum for your area where you can ask some of the others who are applying and also there are some experts that can answer your questions.
