We filed in april and recieved receipt on april 13th. Filed with the California service center. We then got notice in may that our case was being transferred to the vermont service center.

The vermont wait time is 25 months.  California is 5-7

Has this happened to anyone else ?

Yes, there are a few cases here on VJ where that happened. Normally, the case needs deeper background checks either from the US or from other countries. I hate to give you the unwelcome news but it's not unusual for this to happen. @Dale. is one who is over a year now. There isn't anything that you can do but wait. I'm sorry this happened to you. Good luck and stay engaged.

I used the "search" box in the upper right-hand corner, and I was able to see many articles concerning your topic here on VJ. It's an amazing tool to use.

Hello.

We filed our case and received Noa1 june 5th 2019.  We received transfer notice Oct 21st 2019.  In total it has been over 500 days now...or 16.5 months.

All I can tell you is do not think about the wait time.  Try and keep occupied with work or hobbies.

Man that is awful. I wonder why .. I dont have any background issues or criminal history.  Me and my fiance have been together for 12 years and have an 11 year child together. I still have hope that it will be approved before my case inquiry date of april 13th. After that I'll chill out and go into "when it happens it happens" mode. Its seems increasingly clear though that calling and asking does nothing.

When it happens, it will happen.  Hold onto the positive outlook.  Seems odd that your case was transferred if you and your fiance have no background issues or criminal history.  I hope you hear something soon

Ok we are all waiting for approvals right now. But one we are approved then what? Is it another wait ? If so what will we be waiting for exactly and for how long ?

You would have join the queue after approval or expedite your case. If your country embassy has started doing k1 interviews, then lucky you or else it’s wait, wait and wait

Is it another wait?  Yes. Every step along the way you will have to wait for that process to be complete. The one wonderful thing is once your file is at the embassy then you oversee how fast things move. As you pay your fees, schedule the medical, interview appointments, and gather the required documents

If so, what will we be waiting for exactly and for how long? Get the PDF file from the link below. No one can say with any certaincertaintyr how long something will take. We are not in normal times.

Download the PDF file on the first post of the first page for tips, tricks, and hacks to follow your case to the embassy. I'll post the link below:

So I'm getting closer to my receipt date (April 7th) and I've still yet to receive NOA2. On the case status site it's still saying the case has been received. Is there perhaps something I may have forgotten to do once getting my receipt in the mail where they can process it easier? I don't really know what to expect once I'm supposed to get NOA2. Like, does the case status site update and say something like " your case has been approved" or something? Do they typically send NOA2c in the mail and I maybe just missed it or something?

If you forgot to add something or there is any item on your application that is in question you will receive a RFE to correct. RFE's are not a refusal. Your case, like thousands of others, are being influenced by the pandemic. We are seeing NOA2's approvals at a much slower rate than before. It's not unusual to be approved after the seven months. More patience and use the link below to sign up for an account with USCIS to receive updates and to view action and history on your account.

Go to https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/ to determine your processing timeline according to where USCIS is currently adjudicating I-129f filings.

There is a service provided by the USPS (US Postal Service) whereby each morning USPS will scan your incoming mail (just the address side of the envelope) and email you an update. It's very convenient these days to have advance notice that an important piece of mail is being delivered.

The service is available to most communities, but some are still being rolled out so not all areas are available. Check the website with your zip code to verify your location is available for the service. A person in the USA can sign up for this free service here:

https://informeddelivery.usps.com/box/pages/intro/start.action

You can also use the USPS Mobile app available in the Google play store.

These are the best tools to use.

Also, did you take the time to read what others have posted in this thread. We have discussed this throughout the thread. Example: Use the link in the post just above yours for the PDF where I explain most of what you asked with the same links that I used to answer your questions. Good luck and stay engaged.

It's nearing the 7th month from our NOA1 and still no NOA2. I'm starting to worry. Is this normal? USCIS states the pandemic didn't affect anything and the site says March 25 applicants can ask for a case inquiry.

How are you people holding up?

I think you just gotta be patient. It looks like your NOA1 was 4/10, so you still have a little bit of time.

Sorry if this sounds silly, but which choice should I select for "User Type"? My fiancé and I are doing the K-1 visa and I am the American citizen.
