Suggestions for NVC financial evidence

Hi everyone! You guys have been immensely helpful thus far, so thanks for that. I have a quick question about NVC, as we're uploading the affidavit of support and financial docs.

My husband, the petitioner, makes over the poverty line so we're not worried about that. But as he's a film/tv worker (with a union), he runs through a few jobs a year. It's always W2 income though, but as none of these are long-term jobs (each job lasts a few months), it has us a bit concerned about demonstrating income. Especially as, right now, the film industry is down due to COVID-19.

What we have so far in our AOS package:

  • Form i-864EZ (hoping this one is fine, all of his income is shown on a W2)
  • Tax return + W2 from 2019, as it's just been filed so no transcript is available
  • Tax transcripts from 2017 + 2018 (and through all years, it shows a stable income that isn't skirting the poverty line)
  • A letter of good standing from the film & tv union he's part of
  • Recent pay stubs up until this month when COVID-19 disrupted the film industry
  • A statement (from him) explaining that the industry is obviously down for a month or two, so an employment letter is impossible, as well as an explanation about skipping around projects being the nature of the job (including an e-mail from the current production he's on to say they're suspended for 4 weeks at present)

I know NVC is a bit subjective in what's good proof or not to them, but I'm hoping that this is enough. If anyone with experience of a similar situation, like jumping from contract to contract, has advice about anything else we could throw in there though, I'd rather be over-prepared than under! Or maybe I'm missing something obvious.

It feels nice to be past the i-130 level, but it's kind of more nerve-wracking to think we'll be bumped to the back of the line if something is missing at NVC.

Looks good but he should name the Union as his employer.  His situation is common to many union workers who make good steady income each year.
