Hey VJ Fam....

I was wondering if anyone else has noticed the following (see below screenshot)....before whenever I'd log into my USCIS account to check the status of our IR1/CR1 Spousal Visa it showed a submitted date of 25-Sept-2019 AND a "In Process.....Your benefit request has been accepted and is under review." date of October, 2019.  But today when I logged in it showed an "In Process.....Your benefit request has been accepted and is under review." date of February 23, 2020.  Why would the date be changed?  Does this mean that they've been working on the case?  I hope this doesn't mean that our case has been pushed back.  Does anyone have any idea what could possibly be going on?

I had weird date changes and showing information differently on the 2 uscis websites (one that u log into and the one that u just enter in case number.... Both always showed different dates)

I called USCIS about this and they could never tell me why the dates were different nor would ever admit that there are two different uscis sites.

All I can say is that there appears to be lots of glitches in their system and it is better to call them for updates.

Thanks HKS....can you please tell me how you were able to get ahold of a live person to speak with at USCIS?  Each time I call I am unable to reach a live person.  I tried emailing but only got a response to check the timeline guidelines.  I know what the timeline is BUT what I want to know is why the processing/review date has now changed and does this mean my case will be even further delayed.

USCIS 800-375-5283

U have to navigate through the phone system to get to a point where you can wait on hold.... Hold times were like 45min a few months ago when I last had to call.

The trick, if I remember correctly, is to press the number where it says you forgot your case number, then it oddly asks for a case number and you enter it and then it puts you on hold. Option 2 maybe. I can't remember. But I do remember it being odd. Like 1 for English, and then 2 for the next 3 menus

I have the same issue. On Friday I saw status date was changed to Feb 23rd 2020. I don't think it means that any office is working on our file right now.

It just information that we are still in queue.

I actually spoke with a representative at USCIS and she confirmed for me that the date change was a result of my case being transferred to a new officer.  I asked if this meant my case would be further delayed because of the new date and she said "no" but that it had simply been given to a new officer to work on now and the new date signified the action of this transfer.

I just uploaded the file14.thumb.JPG.2b28232f67ec588bf5d1fdc146669ea9.JPG, so the date will change because I made an update.

The same thing happened to me, and it turns out our case was transferred to a different service center. I'm seeing other people with the same date change saying their cases were transferred to another service center. I was able to confirm our new service center via livechat

Livechat? They have that now? Can you send link? Is it just USCIS or NVC as well?

Interesting....when I spoke via phone with a live USCIS agent she didn't tell me that our case had been transferred to a new Service Center but that it had only been transferred to a new agent and that the October 2019 date was still valid and that the timeline for processing date would remain based on the original October 2019 date.  If indeed these date changes also involve Service Center changes, I hope this means our cases will see faster movement for approval :)

I hope so too!

For us it should be a good thing, we got changed from Nebraska to Texas. I asked the LiveAgent specifically if my case had been transferred and to which Service Center, you might want to do that to see if yours has been sent to a new one just in case!

I am not sure if the LiveChat will be useful for NVC

You can just go to https://www.uscis.gov/ and click on "Need Help? Ask Emma" at the top right hand side of the page and ask to speak to a live agent

As per USCIS website https://www.uscis.gov/workload-transfers in 2020 cases were transferred from California Service center to different Service center. Mine was transferred to Vermont which is slower than California.  I know that it was transferred to Vermont because I submitted change of address form to USCIS and I received confirmation email from Vermont Service center

Date change means your case was touched, you can have this happen multiple times, it's nothing to worry about, but also doesn't mean it's currently being reviewed.

As some people have seen it's just the file being transferred.

Sometimes things end up being quicker when things are transferred.
